Working closely with other designers, developers & product managers you will be involved in all aspects of the product development lifecycle from discovery through to delivery of end-to-end experiences for our users. The products are designed to encourage customers to return more frequently, repurchase and engage with more of our channels, products and services. 

A UX Designer is responsible for design for a product or initiative. They are responsible for the ensuring and maintaining a high quality of design work within their remit.

Our Designers are technically excellent designers, fantastic communicators with an impeccable track record of delivery, whilst actively contributing to product strategy and planning for their specific product.

What will your daily life look like?

  • You will be part of a team of highly motivated UX & UI Design professionals with the goal of maximising customer value on and off site (the full end-to-end customer experience).
  • You’ll successfully balance tactical changes and optimisation with larger strategic projects and pivots. Working with others, you will take a pragmatic, organised, and systematic approach to shape to deliver meaningful change to the user experience.
  • You will be responsible for overall design quality and outcomes within your area.
  • You have a key role in partnering and collaborating with product and commercial leaders across MSMG. You will contribute to and influence the overarching roadmap for the product and platform and ensure consistency of experience across the different touch points, channels and products within your area.
  • You will be prioritising, planning and scheduling your work across your portfolio. You will work with other Designers, Leads and Product Managers to ensure that you are always working on the highest priority work across MoneySuperMarket.
  • You will produce and document designs, patterns and components so that they can be used and utilised by other MoneySuperMarket product teams and third parties through our Design System.
  • You will be comfortable using a range of techniques to understand the user; A/B testing, learning in live, user testing, research and data and translating it into meaningful improvement that delivers measurable user and commercial results.

What do we need from you?

  • Currently working in either a UX/Design consulting or agency-side role, or currently working as an in-house expert in this area with a consistent track record working on industry-leading customer orientated design projects across a range of products, platforms and devices.
  • Deeply passionate about usability and making empathic user-centred design decisions.
  • Experience in interaction design work, sketches, storyboards, prototypes and visual design.
  • Demonstrable experience of the techniques and artifacts needed to communicate & deliver effectively - personas, journey maps, wireframes, flows, information architecture, UI designs, prototypes etc.
  • Able to facilitate workshops, design sprints and other collaborative sessions.
  • Understanding & experience of working with pattern/component libraries contributing to a consistent design language.
  • Experience of using a range of design tools; Sketch, Figma, Zeplin, Creative Cloud, Axure, UserZoom, Invision, Hotjar etc.
  • Experience of collaboration in a matrixed environment across multiple business areas.
  • Experience working with other product, tech and business leaders and able to influence roadmaps and strategy.
  • Experience and knowledge designing for A/B and multivariate testing process and has a bias for getting work out in front of customers so that we can learn, iterate or pivot.
  • Proven experience with Lean UX, Lean startup, Design Thinking, Kanban and dual track agile discovery & development processes.
  • Experience in planning, running, analysing and reporting on user research sessions, then using this information to recommend practical and achievable changes.
  • A good understanding of the role and responsibilities of an insurance intermediary
  • A good understanding of the FCA’s regulatory requirements relating to the sale of insurance products and how they apply to a UX role
  • A good understanding of the risks posed to customers when buying insurance products and how to mitigate them
  • A good understanding of how a positive culture (putting the customer at the heart of decisions) and strong business ethics (doing the right thing) can ensure good outcomes for consumers
  • A good understanding of insurance products: how they work, their T&Cs, risks, and the relevant laws affecting them
