Overview:

Digital is changing the world, starting with the way we shop. Today it’s online shopping and click-and-collect, tomorrow it will be something not yet imagined. It’s a fast-moving world, where fresh ideas are welcome–along with the pace and flexibility to lead the way.
Kingfisher has built a state-of-the-art digital home–a place where digital creators and innovators like you will come together and shape the digital future for more than 23 million home improvement customers in 1,176 stores in the UK and across Europe.
It’s a chance to be part of something new. A chance to do big things in small, close-knit teams. A chance to feel the energy of a small agency–with the financial resources of a major retailer. And a chance to be rewarded for your talent, creativity and energy as well as your time.

Responsibilities:

As a Kingfisher User Experience Designer, you will use your creative skills in the delivery of design solutions for a number of digital services, products and features. With a wide and interesting remit, there is the opportunity to work on services and products from conception through to feature and component delivery.
You will be a part of a multi-disciplined team that deliver innovative and high crafted experiences to our customers; working collaboratively with other Service & Interaction Designers, Business Designers, Visual Designers, Product Designers, Design Researchers, Solutions Architects and Developers.

Day to day you’ll be working with Design Leads and your team to create, test and refine ideas. You’ll be producing light-weight deliverables in a fast paced environment, with a focus on Lean delivery, in order to learn and iterate.

Qualifications:

We're looking for somebody with industry experience designing services and user interfaces for consumerproducts and experiences that exist in the real world. You will support in drafting a vision for the end-to-end experience of services and consider how your work relates to the overall service proposition, ensuring the features and components you design are suitable.

You will translate the project from a high level service into a detailed journey with practical experience using design and prototyping tools (eg Sketch, InVision / proto.io). You will work collaboratively with Research teams in order to validate hypothesis–through discovery, and usability evaluation of prototypes and live services, as well as understanding opportunities and limitations of technology, and how it relates to design.

Ultimately, we're looking for somebody who can contribute to a culture of innovation and teamwork within Kingfisher Digital, by sharing new technologies and industry design trends whilst being a voice and champion for UX best practice, encouraging the product teams to try new approaches and ways of doing things.

If this sounds like the right role for you, apply now.
