Job Title: UX Designer

Department: Creative

Reporting to: UI/UX Design Lead

 

The Department

The Creative Department is responsible for all digital and offline creative work. This covers all mediums, skills and deliverables. We work closely with the Development Team and keep up to date on the latest trends in design and web technologies ensuring we produce the best possible user experience. Our standards are high and this is reflected through our brands and products that are market leaders.

Purpose of the role

We are looking for a User Experience (UX) Designer able to understand our business requirements and translate those into user flows and designs for the projects on our product roadmap. Additionally, you will be responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, competitor analysis, and translating them into user flows, customer journeys, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes. The UX Designer will also be expected to design the overall functionality, and to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with A/B and user testing.

Essential criteria

  • Proven UX Designer experience.
  • Experienced in using Google Analytics to take data-driven design decisions.
  • Expertise in standard UX software including Sketch, Adobe XD or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
  • Proficiency in Invision or other relevant prototyping tools.
  • Ability to conduct user and competitor research, data analysis, journeys and flows using personas, experience maps, benchmarking and analytics.
  • Help facilitate user testing, focus groups, A/B testing and surveys.
  • Experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows and site maps.
  • Excellent presentation skills.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Analyse business requirements and translate those into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
  • A solid grasp of user-centred design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis and usability concerns.
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions that will optimise conversion.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to understand requirements and design complete user experiences that meet the business needs and vision.
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and an understanding of mobile first and responsive design.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions.
  • Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design.
