  • To fulfil our demand and rapid growth, we need a passionate UX Architect who has the knowledge and experience to deliver creative design thinking. The successful candidate will ideally have several years’ experience of working within a fast paced and agile team, working with the wider business to understand their business/digital requirements in order to create design solutions.

    You will also have experience in working with development and creative teams, to formulate design recommendations, and then communicating this to our Commerce team, and the business.


    The UX Architect at giffgaff will report directly to the Head of UX.


    Key aspects of the role

    • Solid experience in information design, solely focus on giving structure, design usable navigation models, be involved in content categorization and some copywriting activities
    • Translate business problems and requirements into a compelling product that demonstrates the power and value of the giffgaff experience
    • Work with product owners, stakeholders and users to understand how people use our product and use this information to define design principles
    • Define information architecture, customer journeys and initial content.
    • Sketch low-fidelity wireframes to quickly present and iterate your initial ideas
    • Build fully functional prototypes including interaction design.
    • Be familiar and comfortable navigating and creating site maps
    • Clearly communicate hierarchy, grouping, and workflows for applications
    • Define what and where content/copy should be placed on the page.
    • Craft features and principles that will be applied modularly to the entire site.
    • Create and maintain UX guidelines, standards, and best practices for user-centric products
    • Extensive experience with Mobile First and responsive web design.
    • Conduct usability research through remote & face-to-face studies.
    • Complete and keep UX documentation for all projects updated, including ecosystem diagrams, user flows, site or application maps, fully annotated wireframes, and feature/functionality specifications.

    Previous experience must have’s:

    • You have 3 years+ experience in IA & UX
    • Comfortable working with business to gather user requirements and define functionality
    • Understand business data and collect it to inform your decisions
    • Clearly communicate hierarchy, grouping, and workflows for applications
    • Expert in information design and be able to clearly express complex information
    • Mapping user journeys, concepts, in addition to producing wireframes.
    • Create and maintain UX guidelines, standards, and best practices
    • Creating site maps and content categorization
    • Confident with an excellent eye for design and attention to detail.
    • Understand the rendering capabilities of the platform you are designing for (responsive web, ios, android)
    • Experience with design tools such as Axure RP, Mindnode, OmniGraffle Adobe suite etc.

    Previous experience nice-to-have’s:

    • An understanding of the mobile phone market
    • Experience conducting user research and usability testing, both face to face and online
    • Experience working on fast paced environments and being able to multi-task
    • An understanding or experience of working in an Agile environment
    • Experience of Atlassian JIRA & Atlassian Confluence
    • Experience with web analytics and A/B testing tools such as Google Analytics, Optimizely, etc.
