Are you a UI Designer looking for a great opportunity to work on an exciting programme where the customer is at the heart of our success?

Asda Loyalty are looking for a UI Designer to join a rapidly expanding team, we are looking for someone with a background of working in a large transformation retail project. This is a very exciting opportunity as you will be heavily involved in shaping a new area of the business, so if you like to work on new innovative concepts and be kept busy then you will thoroughly enjoy this role! 

Marvel is the name for the programme that will see Asda create a new and exciting loyalty programme for the whole customer base. Customer Experience will be pivotal in the success of this programme - the design decisions must come from a customer centric mindset, allowing us to drive much more relevancy and enjoyment.

You will report into the Senior Product Owner where you will work on supporting the product requirements, and you'll work closely with business partners to understand their problems which will enable you to help them understand the best experiences. You must have excellent communication/stakeholder management skills.

Your Role:

As a UI Designer, you will be working with the business to create excellent experiences for our loyal customers achieving full sign off from the business customers and senior Asda Loyalty stakeholders. You will also have the following key responsibilities.

  • Be a great team player, experienced in working with agile teams. Ability to collaborate closely with UX architects, developers, copywriters and other senior stakeholders
  • Transform UX wireframes and other design briefs into pixel-perfect visual designs for hand-off to development teams
  • Understand how to balance customer needs with the KPIs of the business in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Present and defend designs to all levels of the business, taking feedback on board to iterate and improve design output
  • Work alongside UX Architects in understanding user research and evaluating user feedback to inform design decisions
  • Use and contribute to our design system, ensuring designs are consistent and aligned to overall brand look and feel
  • Understand best practices and standards in design methodologies and processes, including accessibility

About You:

  • Demonstrable experience of creating user-focused UI designs with a portfolio to prove it, showing your design process, and covering all responsive device sizes
  • Exceptional design skills and attention to detail
  • Experience using brand guidelines and UI design systems
  • Being up to date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a positive outlook to tackle challenging design problems
  • Good working knowledge of Agile and Scrum development methodologies, including UAT
  • Knowledge of user testing and how it can help in rapidly optimising the user experience
  • Proficiency in Sketch, Zeplin, Figma, Photoshop, Jira
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (not essential)
  • Experience using rapid prototyping tools like Axure, Invision or Principle.
