The New York Times is looking for a temporary editors on our Briefings newsletter team.

 

You’ll be part of our newsletter team, but focused specifically on a project that distills the top news from our report to send out by email in a multitude of time zones to develop and maintain a devoted following for The Times’s news coverage. You’ll work Sunday through Thursday, editing the briefings, and occasionally writing one. 

 

You’ll network with editors and reporters and attend daily news meetings to stay abreast of what’s coming down the pipeline. You’ll have a keen eye for what makes a story special, and a deft hand at helping our writers surface that for the reader. You’ll fit in with a working culture that adheres to high standards without losing collegiality.

 

This position is represented by the NewsGuild of NY.
