Amazon Fashion Europe is seeking a self-directed and hands-on Senior Designer/Design Manager to lead our growing in-house visual design team to help transform the experience of customers shopping for fashion.

In this role, you will lead visual design across our fashion merchandising and marketing programs—from design style guide, UX of storefronts and delivery of all marketing assets, supporting across all owned and operated and paid channels —for all of Amazon Fashion editorial, events, program marketing.

You will manage a team of visual designers, working across graphic design, motion design and web design (layout, UI), as well as with external agencies, to create content that delivers engaging and inspirational customer experiences. This role works with the central Fashion Editorial team, and will provide the design direction to bring their creative shoots to lift, across all marketing touch-points. This is a hands-on design role, looking after a team of graphic designers and video editors.

This is a highly cross-functional role that requires close partnership across teams, including fashion editors and copywriters, creative and art directions, marketing and product managers, to define and build the Amazon Fashion brand across customer-facing touchpoints.
The successful candidate will have experience in fashion / e-commerce leading a team of digital designers. They need to be successful both in a team environment as well as individual contributors, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. They will have a strong portfolio with a wonderful eye for graphic design, a deep skill in typography and page design. A love of working at pace, turning creative imagery into high-quality storefronts and layouts, while managing complex planning schedules, and be flexible to changing priorities.

The right applicant should be able to use their design chops to positively impact the customer experience (whether that’s with graphic design, UX/UI, motion graphics, or all of the above). They also need to be able to use data and insights in order to inform their design decisions. This is a hands-on design role, blended with design team management.

Responsibilities:
· Lead design projects across all marketing touchpoints: editorial, storefront, emails, PR, social content as required
· Work from creative briefs to translate marketing strategies to creative execution
· Produce graphic standards, templates, layouts, guidelines and design graphics
· Be responsible for the design resourcing, planning & budget
· Scope design initiatives and assign workload. Proactively manage own and others’ time as necessary. Ensure the team’s output is of the highest standard
· Lead designers in the completion of projects as necessary, providing clear direction and constructive feedback
· Be a mentor, motivate the team members and help them grow their careers
· Liaise with agencies that support with graphic design & localisation

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications:
· 8+ years of experience as a visual designer, design director, or similar creative roles
· 4+ years of experience leading teams with strong execution focus
· Experience developing and managing brand standards and style guidelines across large, complex organizations
· Knowledge of UI, typography, image and related design standards for web
· Knowledge of digital content production, including familiarity with post-production retouching and editing
· Fluency with contemporary social media platforms, technologies, and trends
· Experience with motion design for web and social
· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote/PPT, Sketch
· A degree in graphic design or related field or equivalent professional experience within a design field
· A provided and accessible online portfolio that demonstrates successful user-centered visual design for across a range of channels, aesthetics, and project budgets
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· 5+ years of experience in a multi-channel design leadership role at a creative agency or in-house at an editorial publication, retailer, and/or consumer brand
· Experience designing for a fashion retailer, designer brand, magazine, or website
· Expert knowledge of e-commerce and digital marketing best practices with experience designing and producing content for onsite retail merchandising
· Exceptional creative concepting, development, and design skills with strong attention to detail
· The proven ability to navigate ambiguous situations and thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment and across multiple creative projects to meet aggressive deadlines
· The proven ability to use performance data and customer insights to inform and defend strategic recommendations
· The proven ability to synthesize and incorporate feedback from cross-functional partners, including merchants, marketers, and product and UX teams
