Goldman Sachs Asset Management (AM) is looking for a highly-motivated, versatile Senior Visual Designer to join our design team. AM visual designers have a tremendous responsibility in shaping the team’s strategic vision and communicating the AM brand into compelling experiences across the division from crafting task driven, data dense enterprise applications to marketing pages and microsites that help differentiate our products.

We know that the success of our team depends on our ability to deliver exceptional user experiences, and we need visual specialists who can collaborate with UX designers, developers, product managers, and individuals across our AM business to bring them to life.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with UX designers, product managers and engineers to identify new product opportunities, define problems & goals and visualise compelling solutions to complex problems.
  • Contribute to new feature definition and exploration from concept through execution within an integrated team that meets business needs, user needs, and technical capabilities.
  • Create beautiful experiences that turn complex ideas into clear communication that delight our users.
  • Create storyboards, wireframes & high fidelity mockups that transform complex concepts to clear narratives.
  • Happy to work independently or partner with other designers and developers to create user-friendly mobile-first customer experiences.
  • Advocate for a clean, simple user-centered interface.
  • Contribute and assist in the maintenance of the design system and component library.

Basic qualifications:

  • 8+ years of industry experience in interactive and visual design.
  • A passion for branded storytelling and quality user experience.
  • A refined visual sensibility and a commitment to craft and detail.
  • Experience working with design systems and demonstrable understanding of the benefits of re-use and design standardization.
  • You can build consensus around your creative vision, defend design decisions with research or industry best practice and guide your colleagues on executing it.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and negotiate product outcomes that balance design with business value.
  • Desire to work in a commercially focused, fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for simplicity and user empathy.
  • Experience designing solutions for mobile-first responsive design.
  • Proficient in Figma, Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Prototyping tools.
  • Degree or Master’s degree in visual communication, interactive media, design, UX, HCI or a related field.

Nice-to-have qualifications:

  • A background designing complex financial applications a big plus.
  • Rich data visualization experience.
  • Understanding of web standards, capabilities and best practices (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
  • Some ability to use web frameworks like D3.
  • Motion design expertise with Principle or After Effects.
  • Experience with interactive media tools such as Ceros or Vev.
