Our mission is to 'help people save and invest with confidence'. We are looking for great people to join us, so please come and invest in YOUR future at HL.

Our user-centred design team is growing and we’re looking for an experienced UX designer to lead the redesign and migration of our website onto Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the UX design of our website working closely with Product Managers, User Researchers, Content Designers, UI Designers and Agile delivery squads.
You’ll be responsible for rationalising our current website, redesigning it to meet user needs and creating reusable components for AEM content authors.

As a UX designer within the website team, you will:

  • plan and facilitate workshops with stakeholders and end-users to inform designs

  • redesign and evaluate website structure including labelling, navigation systems, metadata, search and content management

  • design and evaluate website components and patterns

  • produce testable prototypes for design research and evaluation

  • repeatedly iterate and improve designs based on evidence and sound rationale

  • present complex information and concepts in a clear and articulate manner

  • create a shared understanding of users through the collaborative creation of UX artefacts

  • conform and contribute to organisational design standards

  • work with the UCD practice to promote and shape UX design at Hargreaves Lansdown

We need to see evidence that you:

  • are a passionate advocate for both high design and engineering standards with a meticulous attention to detail

  • have excellent knowledge information architecture principles and experience creating scalable and sustainable systems

  • have excellent knowledge of established design and interaction patterns (web) and experience working with design systems or pattern libraries

  • follow a rigorous, yet flexible, user-centred design process within an Agile environment

  • produce testable prototypes (using varied tools and methods) for design research and evaluation

  • can confidently design solutions that meet the needs of people with: accessibility needs, low digital literacy or low domain knowledge

  • facilitate collaborative workshops with colleagues and stakeholders (for example, ideation, prioritisation and mapping)

  • have substantial experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary digital product team tasked with frequent delivery

  • are an open, confident, and considered communicator and collaborator

  • can clearly articulate design decisions to designers and stakeholders across the business

  • employ excellent analytical and critical thinking skills in your work

Not essential, but we would like to see evidence that you have:

  • a degree in UX Design, human-computer interaction, or related field

  • experience with Adobe Experience Manager

  • experience with Adobe Analytics (or similar)

  • experience with design systems

  • experience working in distributed teams

  • experience managing design teams
