Location: Cheadle, SK3 0RB

Salary & Benefits:

£54,300 to £72, 400 base salary, plus annual variable performance bonus, 13% employer pension contribution, 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays. Who is Human Centred Design?

You'll be joining the Human Centred Design (HCD) team, which is a new team of 200+ designers and researchers across Lloyds Banking Group.

Human Centered Design is formed of 9 different guilds, from interaction design to storytellers and design researchers. Service Design forms about 10% of HCD.

Much of your time as a Senior UX Design Manager in HCD will be spent in Labs. As a designer in a Lab you'll have unparalleled opportunities to lead major re-designs and re-thinking of the services and products we offer our customers.

Labs sit inside value streams and are tasked with understanding users through research and design techniques, and designing and delivering ideas that improve our customer’s day to day prosperity and experience of Lloyds. You'll be taking on a wide range of challenges - from setting up how a lab works, to actually delivery features and services.

You'll be helping to lead on the implementing Human Centred Design practices throughout our four stages of design; understand, incubate, develop and deliver.

What are the Details of the Role?

As a Senior UX Designer Manager you'll take a lead in nurturing a human centred approach to problem solving by understanding user need and embedding empathetic approach to real world challenges that break down existing assumptions.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring that end-to-end service design underpins the products and services we offer by working with teams to co-designing and deliver ideas that transform both the user experience, and the ways we work as a bank.

You’ll primarily be responsible for designing and running research then turning it into impact and change, co-designing and iterating ideas that meets users’ needs and bank challenges, helping the lab and value stream focus on the right challenges, and think creatively about how we deliver change to our customers. Part of your role will be to influence the culture, helping to coach senior leaders in human centred design, acting as an advocate for change at every level.

What we'd love to see from you:

We like people who come from a variety of backgrounds and welcome having a diverse team. To be considered for the role as a minimum we would need to see the following in this rough order of priority:

Extensive experience in user experience (UX) orientated roles, typically people from the financial industry, consultancies or an agency background find this a great role. A broad knowledge of service design principles and good all-around design skills, experience organizing and running research sessions, experience turning ideas into structure and vision, a great communicator who is comfortable engaging, influencing and creating good effective working relationships, Knowledge of agile principles and how to implement those in a large corporate company used to working within a waterfall style model.
