Senior Strategic Communications Manager, AWS Europe, Middle East, Africa.
Would you like to be part of a communications team that is building awareness about how cloud technology is helping transform businesses and government services around the world? Are you excited by looking around corners to anticipate both PR challenges and high-profile opportunities, and then creating communications strategies, and crafting compelling content that sets the news agenda and protects corporate reputation? Are you passionate about the fast-moving changes technology enables, and the positive impact it is having on people and the world around us while also being empathetic about some people’s reluctance to change? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the leading provider of cloud computing services, providing IT infrastructure offerings ranging from on-demand compute capacity to storage, content delivery, and database services, to machine learning, Internet of Things, serverless technologies, and more. The AWS Public Relations team is at the forefront of shaping communications around the most advanced technologies on the planet, to help customers and APN Partners maximize the benefits of cloud computing.
AWS is looking for a self-motivated, well-connected and experienced public relations professional to join its communications team to cover Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). The right candidate possesses extensive media relations experience, is an expert communicator adept at translating complex technology concepts into broadly digestible information, has significant experience with crisis communications and issues management, is a seasoned and mature team-member, and can exercise calm and rational decisions requiring a high level of judgement, while acting quickly.
The ideal candidate enjoys diving deep into technology, to understand how it is shaping the redefining the world we live in, and then explaining it to top tier media in a way that they can write relatable, highly-informed, and accurate articles. They are motivated by a dynamic, highly creative culture where the challenge of breaking new ground and redefining best practices is welcome. In this role, the candidate will have an opportunity to innovate new and interesting communications and influencer relations strategies. The candidate must be comfortable, and have a successful track record, of working with sensitive issues and communicating with the media on topics that can impact corporate reputation.
This role is based in London and requires periodic travel.
