This role can be remote or based in one of our office locations.

This role sits within our Digital Marketing team, and there will be three major areas of focus:

Product Design (UI/UX) - Working iteratively on the product experience across both internal and external users (e.g. website and signup, customer portal, staff portal, information and functionality design, and email design)

Communications Design - Helping our teams and leaders present new functionality, visualize planned features, and bridge the gap between product, marketing and engineering with a design-led process.

Brand Execution - As we work to define the Edge Metal product and brand (as well as evolve the Packet brand) you will have a front-row seat at the table.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Set design requirements by leveraging user research, team feedback, and customer feedback in order to create effective user experiences.
  • Establish and maintain an iterative process to reflect market changes and customer preferences.
  • Enlist a holistic approach to complex systems through a thorough understanding of business goals, technical constraints, brand evolution, and customer empathy.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering on design solutions. Serve as an advocate for design in strategic product decisions.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of design trends, industry trends, market conditions, tools, and techniques.
  • Present product design ideas to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of experience designing digital products.
  • Proficient in our current design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Invision) as well as JIRA.
  • Ability to give and receive feedback.
  • Ability to explain the reasoning behind your opinions.
  • Ability to guide design from concept through implementation.
  • Ability to work within a defined design system but be able to justify deviation from the standard.
  • Ability to engage, collaborate with, and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Proven passion for design and determination to challenge the status quo.
  • Ability to collect and interpret both qualitative and quantitative feedback.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background with technical products, including infrastructure.
  • You are comfortable working directly with product leaders and engineering stakeholders.
