Why Our Role?

The Product organisation at Moneysupermarket Group comprises ~70 professionals across a number of Product-related disciplines, with a mandate to deliver financial results through experience optimisation and our strategic market growth agenda. A simple, yet rigorous, Product planning process is required to ensure a balanced and timely approach to resource allocation and the seamless delivery of Product objectives, in close orchestration with partner teams including Commercial, Technology, Data and Customer

We leverage our data assets, breadth of panel and provider relationships to develop a deep understanding of customer needs and goals, to deliver "the right experience to the right customer at the right time in the right channel," so that they are empowered, informed, and are clear about the many ways that we can help them save money.

What will you do as a Senior Product Designer?

  • Producing high fidelity UI designs across multiple touchpoints and breakpoints catering for all customer states.
  • Creating wireframes, designs, and prototypes.
  • Working on cross-platform applications.
  • Have excellent practical design skills including layout, colour, typography & responsive design
  • Be deeply passionate about usability, interaction design and making empathic user-centred design decisions
  • Lead in the creation, upkeep, and governance of our visual language for our brands
  • Leverage all the qualities and skills involved in user centred design, working alongside all Product Designers, recognising that getting our work out to users as quickly as possible ensures that we can learn fast and pivot.
  • Act as a critical friend and coach to ensure that Product Designers can deliver interaction designs where needed for fast iterative testing of hypothesis.
  • Whilst all teams are expected to contribute, the UI team are also responsible for the upkeep and effective usage of our internal design system(s) and associated libraries.
  • You should be passionate about user interface, visual & interaction design. Whilst this is a digital design role, having a solid understanding of basic graphic design principles will be beneficial.
  • You may also from time to time, get involved in design work, shaping user flows, creating wireframes, conducting research etc.
  • Experience and knowledge designing for A/B and multivariate testing process

What do you need to excel in this role?­­

Technical skills:

  • Currently in design role with strong experience as a UI leaning Product Designer either agency side or client side
  • Excellent practical design skills including layout, colour, typography & responsive design demonstrated through strong design portfolio
  • Deeply passionate about usability, interaction design and making empathic user-centred design decisions and how this complements the brand
  • Demonstrable experience of techniques and artifacts needed to communicate & deliver effectively - personas, journey maps, wireframes, flows, information architecture, UI designs, prototypes etc.
  • Drawing/sketching skills for ‘scamping’ campaign ideas and mockups
  • Ability to facilitate workshops, design sprints and other collaborative sessions
  • Understanding & experience of working with pattern/component libraries contributing to a consistent design language
  • Experience of using a range of design tools; Sketch, Figma, Zeplin, Creative Cloud, Axure, UserZoom, Invision, Hotjar etc.
  • Experience and knowledge designing for A/B and multivariate testing process
  • Proven experience with Lean Product Design, Lean startup, Design Thinking, Kanban and dual track agile discovery & development processes
  • Take ownership of the design system inline with the brand visions and principles
  • Ensure consistency across product and brand

  • Persuasive speaking, presentation, and negotiation skills to influence colleagues.
  • An instinctive problem-solver, who demonstrates high judgement and is endlessly curious. 
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and demonstrate resilience if priorities or focus change.
  • Able to balance commercial priorities with progressing against a longer-term strategic vision.
  • Experience breaking down UX and UI problems into smaller initiatives and feed via a development process through inception, elaboration, delivery test and to live.
  • Comfortable working in an environment that utilises multi-variant testing to validate steps towards the journey and design vision has a bias for getting work out in front of customers so that we can learn, iterate or pivot.
  • Track record of working in tight iterative delivery cycles with on site development delivery teams.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and coaching others for success in Product Design best practice to upskill teams.
