Looking for a company that inspires passion, courage and creativity, where you can be on the team shaping the future of global commerce? Want to shape how millions of people buy, sell, connect, and share around the world? If you’re interested in joining a purpose driven community that is dedicated to crafting an ambitious and inclusive work environment, join eBay – a company you can be proud to be with.

eBay Inc. is a global commerce leader that connects millions of buyers and sellers around the world. We exist to enable economic opportunity for individuals, entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations of all sizes. eBay Marketplaces operates in 190 markets around the world.

About the Team:

KnownOrigin.io is an early web3 pioneer, an NFT marketplace empowering a new generation of digital artists to express themselves, find an audience and earn a living from their passion.

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join the team in Manchester.

What you’ll be working on:

  • You will be embedded within one of our 3 cross-functional squads made of Engineers, Product people and User Experience Designers.
  • Our squads are largely autonomous and self organising, so you’ll be keen on participating in a range of activities and workshops.
  • You will play a key role in understanding user difficulties and take an empathetic and collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Your work will be life-changing for a new generation of artists, allowing them to make a living from their creativity in previously impossible ways.
  • You’ll be keen to help shape and guide our young teams with a user-centric approach to design and build.
  • You’ll be comfortable managing your time and ensuring UX stays in sync with engineering.

Things we look for in you:

  • Good experience of working as a UX designer, solving B2C or B2C user problems.
  • Strong experience of collaborating within a squad, understanding how to thrive in a cross-functional environment.
  • Equally comfortable designing elegant interactions and interfaces, whilst keeping an eye on the overall user experience.
  • Very comfortable talking to users. You’re not a researcher but you won’t be afraid to work with the team to plan and conduct user research.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience of storytelling to bring your insights to life for your squad.
  • Experience of producing visual artefacts to create shared understanding of user problems, such as user experience maps, empathy maps, service design blueprints.
  • Experience of planning and facilitating workshops, playing back output in a way which brings everyone on the journey.
  • You understand that perfect is the enemy of good and will have experience focussing on solving specific problems with an MVP approach and a blend of high and low-fi techniques.
  • Familiarity with service design techniques is desirable.
  • Startup experience is desirable.
  • Interest or exposure to web3 is desirable.
  • Experience of Figma is desirable.
  • Experience or interest in mentoring younger designers is desirable.

Benefits:

Benefits are an essential part of your total compensation for the work you do every day. Whether you’re single, in a growing family, or nearing retirement, eBay offers a variety of comprehensive and competitive benefit programs to meet your needs. Including maternal & paternal leave, paid sabbatical, and plans to help ensure your financial security today and in the years ahead because we know feeling financially secure during your working years and through retirement is important.

Here at eBay, we love creating opportunities for others by connecting people from widely diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and geographies. So, being diverse and inclusive isn’t just something we strive for, it is who we are, and part of what we do each and every single day. We want to ensure that as an employee, you feel eBay is a place where, no matter who you are, you feel safe, included, and that you have the opportunity to bring your unique self to work.
