Your New Role…
Reporting to the Director, News Video, the Senior Producer, News Video, will hold a key position as part of an editorial team at the forefront of CNN’s international video storytelling. This team will be a key partner in evolving CNNs video editorial on all platforms – be that digital, social or linear.
The Senior Producer will be a news-driven, creative video news producer with exceptional editorial, content producing and creative skills, able to use your strong editorial judgment in the video space to make challenging editorial calls on complex stories where the stakes are high.
The Senior Producer is audience focused, with a clear understanding of how content reaches audiences on different platforms, and will share responsible for accuracy, creativity, and the brand of CNN. Key to the success of this role will be effective collaboration as part of the news editorial team as well as a wide array of teams across CNN, including CNNs international field teams.
This is a new role in an integrated newsroom and you will be expected to adapt to new workflows and partnerships with a view to making the new structure a success.
Your Role Accountabilities…

Taking CNN’s world class, core news video content and journalism to evolving audiences, increasingly found on multiple platforms and devices.

Be the daily interface with assigned teams in the field for both their live reporting and video newsgathering.

Identifying and prioritizing key video moments that tell the CNN story.

Helping to prioritise video workload based on the network’s editorial focus for the day - be that breaking news, live video, live reporting or produced multiplatform content.

Overseeing the production and post-production of news video content; in many instances handling some of the editing yourself.

Identifying and communicating video editorial quickly and clearly to platforms; effectively pivoting to change priorities where required in a high-demand environment.

Handling the most complex decisions in finding and vetting key video, audio and image elements for all of CNN’s platforms.

Responsible for ensuring all content is compliant legally and with CNN standards and practices, partnering with teams who oversee these functions.

You may, on occasion, be expected to work in the field.
Qualifications & Experience…

Proven editorial experience working experience across the media, including the digital media industry.

Track record of delivering content and collaborating in a deadline-driven news environment.

Strong editorial drive, with proven expertise and knowledge of the global news agenda.

Proven creativity and innovation and the production of distinctive multi-platform content in coordination with other departments/teams.

Ability to juggle various priorities and execute against tight deadlines.

You will stay across the latest technology and skills involved in gathering video, editing, field production and video content distribution.

Exposure to working across different time zones and have a strong understanding of different cultures and sensitivities.

Flexibility and open mindfulness to operate in a fast-changing and exciting news environment.

A real desire to make an impact to make CNN innovative and distinctive.
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
