Here at ASOS we are looking for someone with a passion for the ASOS DESIGN collection to join our Menswear design team! If you love creativity and designing product for the 20 something customer, researching the latest trends and want to be part of a fast-paced fashion forward design team this could be the opportunity for you!

 

What you’ll be doing…

  • Researching, developing and designing the menswear outerwear range including identifying key shapes for the season, good fabric knowledge and building a vast range covering all our customer segments.
  • Reacting to sales information and design commercially relevant fashion forward ranges.
  • Sourcing new fabrications, techniques and trimmings. Good knowledge of fabric and fabric mills.
  • Working closely with in-house buying teams – researching, developing and creating product, each season.
  • Working with the technical team on fits on a weekly basis. Identifying and helping create new silhouette blocks for the department.
  • Building relations with suppliers and advising factories on direction, silhouette, construction, key details, fabrics, trimmings and artworks. Development trips required.
  • Managing and developing an Assistant Designer.

 

We’d love to meet someone who…

  • Has previous experience designing outerwear product and working with far east and European suppliers.
  • Previous experience of direct sourcing from fabric mills with knowledge of cut and construction.
  • Strong commercial handwriting and understanding of the ASOS Brand and Customer.
  • Computer Skills: Photoshop, Adobe, CAD.
  • Willing to Travel for Supplier meetings and Inspirational purposes. International development travel.
  • Lives and breathes fashion and is passionate about the product.
  • Understands who the ASOS customer is and is able to find the latest trends relevant to them.
  • Is super organized, able to use their initiative and to work in a high-pressured environment.
  • Is able to build great relationships with colleagues across the business and suppliers alike.
