Remote working options but must be prepared to work minimum 2 days the office..

At Dixons Carphone, we don’t see our colleagues as enablers of our strategy – they are slap bang at the centre of it, because ‘Capable and Committed Colleagues’ is a core pillar of our strategy. That’s how important they are. They provide the magic ingredient in helping our customers discover, choose and enjoy amazing technology. Expert face-to-face help is at the heart of why customers shop with us, and that takes skilled and dedicated colleagues. Happy colleagues make for happy customers, who make for happy shareholders.

This role is all about that magic ingredient and focuses on that core pillar of Capable and Committed Colleagues. You’ll  be responsible for bringing our people narrative and agenda to life for our colleagues across our business. This is not about blasting out emails, powerpoints and videos and creating a tonne of noise with no cut-through; this is about creating communications that connect with our colleagues. We want to supercharge front line engagement in our stores, supply chain sites and contact centres. You’re going to help us do that. We want to help our leaders and managers harness the power of comms to connect and engage with their teams. You’re going to help us do that. We want to deliver outstanding moments that matter in the colleague experience. You’re going to help us do that.

You’ll use all of your skills as a communicator, To do that, you must:

•    Be a great listener and know how to empathise and tap into the mood and sentiment
•    Be a great planner and be systematic and in control of your communications
•    Connect the dots. You need to get to grips with the strategy and big picture at the same time feeling comfortable going down into the detail. Then you need to weave all this together and make it relevant for our audiences and explain why they should care, what it means for them and how they can contribute
•    Be a great storyteller. You love the real and authentic stories that bring our strategy and culture to life and you know how to find them. They are the nuggets that you’re able to surface that move us away from high level corporate messages into communications that really connect.
•    Be creative. Your plans go beyond the humdrum, stand out from the noise and make colleagues sit up and pay attention

You will need:
•    To show us that internal comms and engagement is in your blood. We’ll want to hear stories about what went well, not so well and what you learned as a result.
•    To share examples of all aspects of the comms lifecycle – from strategy, planning, content creation, dissemination and measurement. You’ll want to illustrate your experience through real-life examples that take us beyond the theory.
•    To show us that you get a kick out of writing and that it’s a skill. We’re not looking for tired corporate language; we’re looking for a strong tone of voice and authenticity.
•    To demonstrate your comfort with the people agenda and working with a very talented HR leadership team which is passionate about making a difference. Whether we are talking about compensation, talent, learning, employee brand, you need to know how to engage audiences around these subjects.

One way we show our gratitude is by giving you access to a range of lifestyle benefits, including competitive salary, PHC and pension as well as staff discounts. Come and be part of something special.
