About the role:

We’re looking for a talented, experienced design researcher to lead the research strategy within your area in Servicing. We’re looking for someone to deliver robust, high quality, collaborative research that helps your team unlock the opportunities for customers and the business. You’ll be part of our multidisciplinary design team that identifies and solves real customer problems.

You'll make a difference when you: 

  • Think strategically about the key questions and risks in product development – and how research can solve this
  • Identify ways to join up research and join up our customer experience across LBG
  • Share knowledge and improve design research methods as an active member of the Design community.
  • Collaborate with and influence your multi-disciplinary design and product teams to grow a culture of design research and design thinking

What we need from you:

  • Strong experience with a broad range of research techniques and analysis
  • Strong experience creating research plans to address key questions for product development and design teams
  • Understand when to use qual and quant research
  • A collaborative mindset to work closely and quickly with a multi-disciplinary team.

What you can bring to the role:


  • Create research plans for your area of Servicing by collaborating with your team to unlock the key research questions and drawing on your deep experience of research to decide the best methods to answer these questions
  • Deliver high quality research for complex projects, that engages designers and product owners
  • Build trusted relationships with key partners and influence effectively from strategy through to delivery
  • Influence product development decisions to be based on customer-evidence!
  • Support the research strategy for LBG, identifying ways to improve our ways of working
  • Mentor, coach and develop other researchers to foster an enjoyable, inclusive culture of research excellence
  • Coach designers and product owners to value design research and drive forward a culture of design thinking
  • Possess a growth mentality and be keep to adopt new ways of thinking to enhance how we do research
  • Experience mentoring or coaching people


  • Experience in both qualitative and quantitative research
  • Experience managing people
  • Experience overseeing agencies to deliver research
