Here at Aviva we are excited to announce we are looking for a Senior Creative Content Designer – this hire will play an instrumental part in developing our B2B and employee-facing campaigns & communications within our Workplace Savings and Retirement Marketing division (WS&R). Therefore, it is highly desirable that candidates have prior working knowable of, or a passion for, saving and retirement products!

The chosen post-holder will join one of the UK’s leading corporate pension providers and be part of a team who look after circa 4 million pension members and over 27 thousand workplace corporates. It’s an exciting time to join Aviva’s WS&R team, as we have ambitious growth plans, to ensure that our customers can access the very best retirement they possibly can!

We’re looking for someone who’s enthusiastic and has experience of design in all its forms (i.e. across motion graphics, animation, photography, social content, infographics, interactive digital assets, visual design, video content, icon design and traditional print), with phenomenal visual design skills, and the ability to translate even the most complex or technical message into highly engaging and impactful digital and print work! You’ll also take the lead on ensuring the accurate interpretation and implementation of Aviva’s brand guidelines, as well as manage stakeholder relationships across the business. It is also essential that the chosen post-holder has prior experience managing and/or coaching team members, as this form part of the role too.

  • Presenting concepts and design work to a range of stakeholders including senior stakeholders where required.

  • Working with the marketing campaign teams to ensure that briefs are consistently of a high enough standard and use your expertise to advise on the best execution channels.

  • Leading the accurate interpretation and implementation of Aviva’s brand guidelines and helping to train and embed these with the marketing and wider workplace savings and retirement team.

  • Producing high quality visuals, from early conception and ideation stages right through to final asset creation primarily to include production and delivery of collateral across brochures, print, social channels, motion graphics and video content.

  • Ensuring the team is on top of any new design execution channels which we can utilise as well as industry best practice to drive a culture of constant improvement and innovation.

Skills & Experience required:

  • A strong design background with extensive experience of designing high quality and engaging digital and traditional print-based media as well as motion graphics and video production.

  • Be able to demonstrate an extensive portfolio of said design work across a spectrum of digital and print executions – this will be part of the interview process!

  • Prior Financial Service sector knowledge, ideally aligned to working on pensions focused campaigns.

  • Team coaching and leadership experience.

  • Experience of adapting and developing design executions within brand guidelines.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present your designs and ideas in a confident engaging way.

  • Highly collaborative with strong stakeholder management skills.

  • A creative thinker and innovative with excellent attention to detail.

What will you get for this role?

  • Annual salary of circa £45,000 (depending on skills, experience and qualifications).

  • Generous defined contribution pension scheme.

  • Annual performance related bonus and pay review.

  • Holiday allowance of 29 days plus bank holidays and the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days.

  • Up to 40% discount for some Aviva products through “My Aviva Extras” plus discounts for Friends and Family. (Some exclusions apply).

Working at Aviva:

At Aviva, we’re people with a purpose. To be with you today, for a better tomorrow.

We bring this to life by ensuring managing risk is at the heart of the way we all work. We love people who do the right thing for our customers, and our colleagues. We want people who speak up, who take ownership, and who make good decisions.

The way we do this is important too, we’re all about our people – that’s you – so we can be pretty flexible. If you want to work from home some of the time or change your hours so you can pick up your kids or care for someone in your family, we’re very open to that. In fact, we don’t advertise roles as either part or full time, because we know each person has different needs, just as each business area has different needs. So, it’s up to you to discuss working hours during your interview.

We care deeply about being inclusive and that means we encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We want our employees to bring their whole self to work and that starts with you.

We interview every disabled applicant* that meets the minimum criteria for the job. Once you’ve applied, please send us a separate email stating that you have a disclosed disability and we’ll make sure we interview you.

We’d love it if you could submit your application online. If you require an alternative method of applying, please give Daisy Holmes a call or send an email.
