Reporting to the Head of Events, the role involves the project management and production of events within one of Informa Tech’s key verticals. You are responsible for delivering exceptional products and world class events that are at the heart of their industry, that help drive exceptional audience both onsite at the events and through our digital platforms.

Supported by the Omdia analyst house and Light Reading and Telecoms.com media brands, the Service Provider pillar events are seen globally as the market leaders in the telco networks and services market. This role is responsible for driving growth in a number of the technologies in this space, as well as working on some of the biggest events in the Pillar.

The Senior Conference Producer is responsible for the following areas within their portfolio:

  • Strategic planning.
  • Event creation.
  • Programme production.
  • Audience delivery.
  • Attendee experience.
  • Product development and evolution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Areas of Responsibility & Accountability:

Production:

  • Extensive research into the market to fully understand the ecosystem.
  • Deliver best in breed content and speakers across physical and digital event platforms.
  • Produce high quality programmes, driving new and exciting content as well as key themes/trends in the industry
  • Focus on delivering a quality experience for all attendees at our events.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of relevant event content and product information for key marketing milestones and associated digital, physical and telesales marketing campaigns.
  • Identify and develop new events and topics for the portfolio.
  • Create new, interactive features and formats that add considerable value to the conferences and exhibition show-floor activities.

Business Development. Develops new and existing business:

  • Provide creative input & tactical support in the delivery of new products.
  • Take responsibility for key account management with Head of Sales.
  • Work closely with the telesales team to drive delegate revenue growth.

Relationships & Brand Awareness:

  • Overview customer relationship management for Portfolio.
  • Build relationships with key customers.
  • Develop and maintain other key contacts e.g. Associations, Partners, JVs.
  • Contribute to positive public profile of our events.
  • Host networking meetings.
  • Host Advisory Board calls and meetings.
  • Develop as a thought-leader within the industry.
  • Build rapport at events and industry meets.

 

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge & Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have had success at a high-performing conference production level within the fast-paced commercial conference world, with in-depth knowledge and experience of delivering events in their field.  They must have:
    • Minimum of 18 months-2 years’ experience of producing commercially-led events with:
    • Delivery of multiple high-level conference programmes featuring executive-level speakers.
    • Helped to define marketing and spex strategies resulting in over-achieving audience and commercial targets.
    • Shown examples of innovation and entrepreneurial skill-sets which would position them as an elite producer.
    • Be a ‘product first’ person who understands what it takes to make exceptional events happen.
    • A good level of comfort with the digital world, from community and content marketing through to ‘digital first’ events, and hungry to build this into their event offerings.
  • Be an energetic conference producer who can establish a strong team culture.
  • Good communicator who can manage external customers and internal business expectations.
  • A natural motivator.
  • Thrives in a challenging, fast paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Commercially minded with proven experience as a practical deliverer.
