Job Overview:

 

As a Senior Art Director – Interactive, you will help roll out Bloomingdale’s content strategy by establishing our hosting platform with Macy’s, building templates and collaborating with the designers year round to build microsites, look books and other special projects.  Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Essential Functions:

 

• Key creative team member who is involved in the seasonal creation and production of the Bloomingdales digital content

• Create reusable templates with CMS for look books and microsites.

• Demonstrates solid grasp of Bloomingdale’s aesthetic, usability principles and high taste level in design sensibility

• Responsible for understanding site architecture, user interfaces, navigation.

• Partners with designers, data analytics, site merchant, PM, QE, SITEOPS, RE, as well as macys.com

• Independently navigates the creative process, negotiating successfully with other teams while being proactive, resourceful and flexible along the way

• Able to work with short timeline as set by manager and cross-functional departments (2-3 weeks per project)

• Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and video editing experience is a plus.

• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience:

 

• Bachelor's degree with 8 years of professional experience. 

 

Communication Skills:

 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

 

Mathematical Skills:

 

• Must have minimum of average mathematical skills, including the ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages.

 

Reasoning Ability:

 

• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as a team player.  • Ability to manage complex projects. 

• Ability to handle multiple tasks with ease. 

• Ability to work under deadline pressure and to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

Physical Demands:

 

• This position involves extended periods of sitting and the extensive use of computer and the office equipment.

• May involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

• Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

 

Other Skills:

 

• Expert knowledge of html5, scss, jquery, git/gitlab, grunt, CMS, responsive design (foundation), accessibility, SEO, Photoshop, cross browser/device development and support for IE11. 

• Thorough understanding of web production and industry best practices

• Must be self-motivated, team oriented, have a collaborative approach to creative development and possess a positive attitude.

• Ability to provide a high level of attention to detail.

• Must be comfortable operating with firm deadlines in place.

• Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently. 

 

Work Hours:

 

• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.
