Coronation Street has a rare opportunity for a Production Manager to join us on a Fixed Term Contract to manage our day to day production filming requirements. If you are an experienced Production Manager with a proven track record able to successfully deliver our editorial, production and financial objectives, then we want to hear from you.

This role entails…

You will be managing the day to day production filming requirements of Coronation Street, in order to successfully deliver the editorial, production and financial objectives. In addition, you will work alongside the Head of Production, Producer and Story team in order to provide the most efficient yet cost effective schedule.

Some Key Responsibilities:

  • Work to and with the Head of Production and in collaboration with Production and Heads of Department.

  • Staff Management - Production Staff.

  • Read, breakdown and budget Storylines for commissioning conferences, accurately and at speed.

  • Read, breakdown and budget all drafts of  scripts, offering suggestions on how the production process can work most efficiently and highlighting significant and potential expenditure to Head of Production and Production Accountant.

  • Ascertain all production requirements and costs and suggest solutions on the best ways of realising editorial ambitions within any production, scheduling  or budgetary constraint.

  • Attend commissioning, draft script meetings, production meetings, recce’s, and de-brief meetings.

  • Ensure the production continues with its sustainability responsibilities.

  • Ensure budgets are on target and report any concerns to HOP.

  • Production Manage individual blocks – to include prep.

  • Work with the crewing team and forward plan crewing requirements to ensure production/shooting needs are met.

  • Be proactive in seeking to widen the talent pool.

  • Brief AD’s, Directors and Script Supers of any production information and issues they need to be aware of as they start the block.

What do I need to get this role/job?

Minimum criteria:

  • Minimum 6  months experience as a Production Manager on a TV production.

  • H&S qualification, preferably IOSH.

  • Experience of working in a pressurised and challenging TV production office environment.

  • Due to the nature of the Production, absolute confidentiality is essential. Experience dealing with highly confidential information. 

  • Proven experience and knowledge of TV Drama Production and Scheduling.

  • Demonstrates strong organisational and planning skills and manages conflicting demands to meet deadlines.

  • Good communication skills vital, both written and verbal.

  • Awareness of multi-platform production/content.

  • Able to use systems and adapt to new technologies.

  • Good IT Skills including Word/Excel/industry related software.

  • Must be contactable outside of working hours.
