Product Development Stylist

We’re looking for stylists that will act as trusted advisors; influencing and supporting the designers and range teams in their Product Style and CMF decisions in order to achieve consistency and coordination across the products we design and offer.
Responsibility for CMF and style input on product, working directly with product leads in their range construction and product selection through collaborative product development
Constantly aware of sales performance across the relevant categories
Accompany range teams (by request and sign off) on sourcing and buying trips to ensure correct use of CMF and style within product development
Responsible for researching and defining CMF content, using the knowledge of best sellers, wider market research and insight in order to make the right choices
Responsibility for range coordination and consistency through continual reference to and use of the CMF and design strategy within the business and in all aspects of design work
Instrumental in articulating clearly our CMF and style strategy
Accountability for trend communication, editing the amount of trend information in order for it to be focused and relevant to the business, presenting back to key audiences
Frequent retail visits looking at product and display, constantly aware of what is happening and sharing insight and imagery with the wider team
Key part of the design studio, working directly with designers and engineers on all projects
Create and provide style research, imagery and CMF detail for all current and future briefs, ensuring consistency across the various projects
Communicate this information in PDF format within a very short space of time
Create and present a comprehensive report to the complete design team every 6 months detailing a carefully edited view of what has been seen at trade show and competitor visits
Constantly advising on style information and CMF detail with the wider design team to ensure a coordinated look & feel across all design projects to emphasis the consistent message across the landscape of the home
- BA (Hons) degree in Design (Textile, Interior, Product)
- Experience of working in similar role within a retailer
- Demonstrate expertise in design style, CMF and trend
- Able to communicate design ideas and articulate style
- Able to influence a wide variety of stakeholders
- Able to prioritise and to react quickly and effectively in order to deliver on deadline
- Able to manage several projects at once, respecting deadlines and commitments.
- The ability to manage several time dimensions in everyday work. E.g. Trends, Product development, marketing communication and Visual Merchandising in the stores
- Experience in seasonal style changes
