Product Designer - Virgin Holidays
This job listing has expired JobIn a nutshell
Virgin Holidays is looking for two experienced and motivated product designers to join our growing digital design team. Reporting to the User Experience Lead, you'll join two existing product designers and a UX designer in a digital design group of six. Working in an agile environment, you'll be embedded in a scrum team and have principal design responsibility for your team's product.
Day to day
Responsible for the end-to-end design process: concepting, researching, prototyping, testing and finally delivering high-fidelity visual designs and working with developers on their implementation.
Deliver the Virgin Holidays digital roadmap through design strategy and execution, working to shared goals within a cross-functional team.
Act as the design voice on your product, working closely with the product owner, scrum analyst, developers, QAs and others to bring our overall digital vision to life.
Interpret user research, prototyping and testing solutions, designing interfaces, and delivering high-fidelity visual designs for development.
Work closely with the Head of Creative, Head of Technology, User Experience Lead and others to advocate and demonstrate best practice in our design work, and to persuasively sell your stakeholders on the value of good design.
Help the business solve new problems, following best practice in design thinking to create innovative solutions to user needs.
Work with the Head of Creative and the wider creative team to play an influential role in brand identity, visual design and implementation of the brand narrative.
About you
You'll have solid experience of designing and delivering high-quality digital products, ideally in an agile environment. You may be in-house, agency or freelance and it would be beneficial if you have a background in travel, hospitality or e-commerce, but this is not a necessity.
You'll be a confident, influential communicator who can champion user-centricity and best practice, and educate others on the value of good design. You'll have good business sense and be able to see the commercial side of design decisions, working within constraints to balance the needs of the user and the needs of the business.
You'll be well versed in the design tools of your choice (although we'll probably try to convert you to Sketch and InVision if that's not already your setup). And finally, you'll have a great portfolio that doesn't just include visuals. We love a pretty interface too, but we'll expect you to explain the business objectives, user needs, and design process behind it.
The perks
Our pioneering spirit and passion keeps our brand vibrantly alive. That's why we give our people the rewards that they deserve. We have a whole host of benefits in place to help you enjoy life to the full, as well as a world of travel opportunities including up to seven flights a year to a wide range of fabulous Virgin Atlantic global destinations. Beyond a whole world of travel opportunities, we also offer a competitive benefits package including pension and private medical schemes, life assurance, child care vouchers and excellent discounts across the Virgin Group of companies.
