Product Designer, UI & UX 

Product Designers blends both UI and UX skills: UI 70% and UX 30%. The Product Designer works as part of a team of designers under a design manager to facilitate product design. This ranges from idea generation through to product delivery. They work with a wide variety of internal stakeholders. This role will be based in our Langley office in the UK, but the candidate will be also be required to work with teams located in other countries.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Crafting and specifying the (UI) user interface to production quality
  • Mastered at least one of the following contemporary design packages - Sketch, Figma, Framer or Adobe XD. We do not use Adobe Photoshop for interface design.
  • Working as part of a design team to re-design web-based products for travel agents from end to end - workshop concept to finished product.
  • Prototyping UI from wireframes, design colours, shapes and interaction.
  • Iterating design - developing design solutions from requirements, incorporating feedback from customers, applying findings from analytics and user research.
  • Presenting work and communicating design solution to internal stakeholders - fluent written and spoken English required.
  • Co-ordination of design activity with the team - your manager, your teammates, the scrum team, product management etc • Proven ability to work in an agile environment. Capabilities:
  • 3+ years’ Product Design experience, with a strong focus on UI
  • Enjoys teamwork and collaboration with designers and non-designers and proactively and effectively involve stakeholders in the design process using appropriate tools and methods.
  • Excellent understanding of interface design as it relates to web.
  • Ability to build prototypes quickly (with or without conditional logic depending on necessity) to communicate how your design works and to test with customers.
  • Communicating your design effectively at different stages of the design process using sketches and prototypes. • Excellent knowledge of interaction design as it relates to human-computer interaction within the context of mobile or web. While new technologies like AR and voice are potentially relevant in future, that’s not the job (yet).
  • Understanding of the principles of User Centered Design process and Universal Design (Accessibility).
  • Able to perform simple research and have some experience of basic research methods - hall testing, guerilla testing or remote usability testing using tools like usertesting.com.
  • Able to synthesize insights from research into design solutions. • Some understanding of cognitive psychology (human behaviour) as it applies to interface design.
  • Demonstrable Product Design skills. We will require a portfolio of digital design work, ideally with strength in mobile UI design evident. We also set an exercise for all candidates • Bachelors/Master’s degree in a design-related discipline or evidence of a career working in a relevant UI/UX field
