Twitter serves the public conversation because conversation is a force for good in the world. The opportunity to help the world connect, debate, learn, and solve problems is what draws us to careers at Twitter, and it’s what keeps us here.

The Position:

Twitter is looking for a Design Manager to join the design team working on the Self Service Revenue Product team. This is a rare opportunity to drive impact at scale, enhancing the Twitter experience both on platform and off and build a team to get us there. Our vision is to give businesses a dedicated experience on Twitter. To do so, we are improving or building from scratch products to help businesses have the best organic and paid experience on Twitter.

We want to make it easier for professionals to understand how Twitter fits into helping achieve their business goals. We aim to provide feedback and direction for a user to understand how they’re doing on Twitter, and enable them with tools to perform better.

The Self Service Design Manager role is part of the Revenue Diversity team, providing greater revenue stability and growth by empowering businesses to thrive on Twitter. Providing our small and medium business customers with scalable, diversified tools and features allows us to expand our professional user base. Delivering new, simplified workflows for advertisers paired with automated recommendations and deeper analytics and insights generates more value for these customers.
Beyond advertising, we are building an ecosystem of world-class shopping features that enable professionals to leverage an immense volume of brand engagement into an additional monetization stream. Our premium subscription services allow users to evolve their emotional investment in Twitter into a monetary investment beyond advertising.

The Revenue Diversity team is highly collaborative, driven and friendly. Design, product, engineering, marketing and strategy teams partner closely to execute on projects and envision future roadmaps. As the Sr. Design Manager, you will have a direct impact on product strategy, roadmaps, and the detailed design of new experiences. We believe in building strong relationships, surpassing expectations, and having fun along the way.

As part of the Design and Research organization at Twitter, we do our work with a set of 8 principles in mind. It’s our mission to uphold these principles and have them reflected in the experiences we design and build:

  • Stand for people: From helping people stay informed to engaging in the public conversation to growing their businesses, always advocate for what is best for the people we serve.
  • Live in culture: Be immersed in and inspired by culture and counterculture.
  • Set standards & break records: Strive for greatness. Don’t shortchange, shortcut, or settle.
  • Work out loud: Share your work and your POV. Create generously. Be transparent.
  • Real talk: Give direct, honest, timely feedback that meets people where they are—and helps them along their professional journey.
  • Always be learning: Run toward what you don't know.
  • Own it: Be responsible for your work, and accountable for the impact it has on other teams and those we serve. Bias toward action. Be decisive. Optimize to fail quickly, and iterate.
  • Soar: Bias toward action. Be decisive. Optimize to fail quickly, and iterate

As a member of our growing team, you’ll bring a mix of strong product design experience, “Design-Thinking” methodologies, design-system knowledge, talent, expertise, and innovative product insights to the role. You’ll balance a rigorous user-centric perspective with the ability to make bold decisions and move the product forward in a fast-paced development environment.

You’ll foster collaboration and consistency across teams and products by working closely with product managers and engineers (local & distributed) to build great experiences for developers using Twitter’s data products. You’ll partner with our Research team to find opportunities and integrate user insights into product strategy and design. You will always champion user experience, product consistency, and design excellence.
