Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a press contact for the London office of The New York Times.

  • Amplify stories by working with reporters and editors to develop promotional plans, including outreach to targeted media lists and other interested parties.

  • Write press releases and blog posts to highlight the reporting of London newsroom reporters and editors.

  • Manage and coordinate interview requests and media bookings for Times reporters across numerous national and local television/radio/podcast programs daily.

  • Assist in pitching trade and consumer stories for Times editorial initiatives, product launches, events and business endeavors.

  • Work collaboratively with corporate communications colleagues and the NYT Global team.

  • Maintain media lists, track and analyze media coverage



  • One to two years of experience working in a UK/Europe-based communications role

  • Strong collaborator and communicator, able to work effectively with teams

  • Excellent understanding of digital media

  • Good project management, planning and organisation skills

  • Strong UK/Europe media contacts and an understanding of the local media environment a plus

  • Fluency in French, German, Spanish or other languages a plus

  • Ability to work overtime when needed a plus
