Who are we?

Breakthrough is a full-service agency, providing research, strategy, creative concepts, technical build, multimedia production, dissemination and evaluation in-house. This ensures that our strategic thinking informs our creativity, and that our strategy is influenced by real-time audience engagement with our campaigns. Our clients are prestigious and include the Home Office, Foreign & Commonwealth Office, US State Department, United Nations; Australian, Tunisian and Iraqi governments, companies such as KPMG, public benefit organisations including the Rockefeller Foundation, and charities such as the NSPCC.


We specialise in working with multiple stakeholders including government, NGOs, charities, media organisations and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), who help us meet our campaign objectives and drive positive social change.


In four-and-a-half years we’ve grown to almost 200 people all working across our offices in Australia, Iraq, Kenya, Somalia, Tunisia and at our headquarters in the UK. It’s an exciting time, and we’ve big plans for the future – and we’re looking for someone to help get us there.


What are we looking for?

Breakthrough is looking for a Picture Editor to lead the improvement, quality and impact of our creative concepts with high quality photography that can influence our target audience and deliver on campaign objectives.



Interested? How does this sound…


You’ll commission high quality and appropriate photographers, negotiating usage fees and contractual rights.

You’ll brief photographers, writers and creative staff and make them aware of the issues related to campaign work and consent procedures.

You’ll edit images, ensuring they contain all necessary caption information and meet all brand, quality, legal and consent requirements.

You’ll distribute images promptly to meet internal and external needs particularly at busy times.

You’ll act as a central point of contact for queries regarding Breakthrough Media’s images, promoting and advising staff and external contacts on usage.








What we need from you…


Be an innovative thinker capable of conceiving new and compelling ways to tell stories using images.

Take pride in commissioning quality photography and have experience doing this in a hectic news driven environment.

Be a strong team player, an excellent researcher and have good knowledge of either PhotoShop or Lightroom software programs.
