Motion Graphics Artist
The Motion Graphics Artist position at The Film House is a great opportunity to contribute to a vibrant young production environment making waves in the region while earning a tax free salary. Your role as the Motion Graphics Artist will be responsible for creating superior stand-alone 2D and 3D animations, as well as animated graphic assets and special effects to be incorporated into live action footage. Experience and a degree of knowledge in layer-based and node-based compositing is required. The Motion Graphics Artist at The Film House will usually work closely with a director to achieve the desired end result, and will have a range of suites and software to engage with to realise the vision. Work may include commercials, documentaries, social campaigns, features, short films, television programmes, music videos and corporate videos.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Work with the creative team to understand project scope and objectives. • Assist in selecting audio, video, colors, animation, etc. for graphic design. • Participate in brainstorming session to share new design perspectives and ideas. • Create and deliver enticing motion graphics in various media formats including videos for web, mobile and broadcast. • Edit raw video footage and composite effects/elements to enhance motion graphics. • Work with editors, producers and other designers to resolve technical and/or design issues. • Liaise with clients to ascertain what it is the client wants/suggest alternatives to the clients. • Research, analyze and maintain up-to-date knowledge about the latest and best design techniques and solutions to create motion graphics. • Maintain and follow best practices for versioning control, naming convention and organization of graphic files (media-management). • Ensure compliance with company guidelines, deadlines and design standards.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS • Strong creative thinking, exhibiting a range or varied styles and techniques. • Ability to create high quality content from a loose or constrained brief with short deadlines. • Working knowledge of the following software: - Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects. - 3D modeling, painting and animation software, such as Cinema 4D, 3DS Max or Maya. - 3D match-moving software, such as PFTrack, Boujour and/or 3D Equallizer. - Node-based compositing software, such as Nuke/NukeX and/or Smoke. • Good understanding of video, compression techniques and format requirements/constraints. • Organizational skills. • Able to use both Mac and PC.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS • Fluency in both Arabic and English is not a must, but helps. •Illustration and graphic design expertise with an ability to potentially craft storyboards and treatments. Experience in film/advertising and post-production. • Knowledge of editing software, incl and predominantly Premiere. Knowledge of troubleshooting hardware and software issues. • An artistic background with extensive portfolio. • Able to create storyboards.
