About The Role:

RAC have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Middleweight Digital Designer with a strong emphasis on Social Media to join our Creative Studio. You would be joining our existing team of designers, copywriters, content editors and Product Designers, playing a key role in developing this much-loved brand and taking our creative execution forward.

This role will report into one of our Senior Designer with a focus on our Driving Theory app as well as supporting the development of our customer and colleague communications. Our studio works at a fast pace and is run on an agency model way of working, which gives everyone great opportunities to produce great work and learn new things. Whilst giving every team member a chance to work on any project.

As one of our Middleweight Designers, you’ll have a passion for developing your skills to the highest level. This is an excellent role for a good designer with a great portfolio showing us your passion for impactful social media, typography and layout. With a strong commercial understanding of social media channels. You must have some animation and video editing skills in your arsenal to engage with readers. You’ll ensure we’re executing and improving the digital customer experience across multiple channels – managing new campaigns from idea through to delivery.

Why are you the right candidate? We’re looking for someone who can provide good design and recommendations to improve social engagement – someone who understands that sometimes subtle can often have huge differences between click-throughs. The successful candidate will be working closely with our brand and comms team to align online and offline propositions at times when the need arises.

 Key skills and responsibilities:

  • You’re a strong communicator. You’ll frequently find yourself immersed in conversation with our stakeholders to understand social media and it importance.
  • You will have a passion for visual storytelling.
  • You have a vast portfolio of multiple touchpoint campaigns.
  • Strong typography and layout skills – all reflected in a great design portfolio.
  • A love of the Adobe CC suite.
  • Be self-motivated and can work to tight deadlines.
  • Own all social media accounts for our Driving Theory app.
  • Able to prioritise high volume of projects and processes and be able to deliver projects on time long side the studio resource manager.
  • A hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Provide recommendations to improve the Driving Theory app branding.
  • Drive and manage projects with the brand team, and bring new ideas to the table.
  • Work closely with internal teams to maintain consistency of RAC brand.

The ideal candidate will come from an agency or in-house background with 4+ years of experience in digital design and an excellent eye for detail. You’ll need to have superb knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with skills in video editing using Adobe After Effects and Premiere. Our Creative Studio can get very busy with new campaigns, so we’re looking for someone with drive and a self-starter who’ll thrive working in a fast-paced environment and be able to think of exciting new ideas and develop and execute them successfully.

This role is based in Bristol, with our team required to be in the office two days per week. One thing the pandemic has taught us is the value of embracing hybrid working, and we can offer some elements of flexible working.
