Overview and Job purpose

We have a very exciting opportunity for a Mid-weight Frontend Developer to work on some of the

best-known brands in the UK soft drinks industry. As a key member of the in-house creative team you

will support our portfolio of brands and deliver best-in-class code to help bring our digital designs and

activations to life. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the business on the adoption of the latest

frontend techniques and substantially grow your portfolio of work.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience working either in-house or at an agency.

This will be demonstrable via a strong portfolio of work that showcases your development skills.

Key Responsibilities, scope for decision making, KPI’s

• Ensuring coding standards are defined and maintained following industry best practices

• Leading the creation of modular, reusable frameworks that can be rolled out across multiple

brand & internal platforms

• Leveraging your experience to provide key input into the future of our core development

strategy

• Testing all web pages, emails and forms to ensure all code works consistently across the target

platforms prior to launch

• Delivering all projects within tight deadlines, managing new priority projects as they come in

Primary Interactions

• Reporting directly to the Technology and Development Manager, as well as providing day to

day support for our Junior Developers, Digital Designers and External Development Team(s)

• Working with our brand teams and other internal functions to ensure updates and changes to

apps, websites and emails are delivered on time

• Attending planning and development meetings with external design and development agencies

Qualifications and Professional Experience

Required

• Educated to degree level (or equivalent training) with significant experience (5+ years) working

in-house or at an agency

• Expert level HTML / CSS including modern features such as CSS Grid and Web Components

• Expert level object oriented/functional JavaScript skills

• Proficient in modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, Vue, React or similar

• Working knowledge of Node/NPM, Webpack, Gulp or similar

• Competent in web animation with standard CSS or libraries such as Greensock, Pixi or similar

• Responsive web/email design and development

• Expert understanding usability principles and interaction design (UI/UX)

• Familiarity of working and developing for content management systems

• Creative thinker

• Great communication skills

• Ability to clearly scope and estimate development tasks

• Ability to manage your own time across a number of projects

Desirable

• Experience designing and building mobile applications be that using progressive frameworks

such as Ionic or native iOS/Android development

• Modular and extensible CSS using BEM or Atomic principles

• Design - Familiarity and/or experience creating:

• Wireframes for UI/UX

• Interactive prototypes using tools such as Invision

• Experience of advanced testing

• Experience working in sprints and leveraging SCRUM/agile methodologies

• Experience leading and mentoring Junior Developers
