We are expanding the Airbnb offering by creating an end-to-end transportation experience for travelers that’s simple, seamless, and inspiring. Never in the history of the online travel industry has a transportation business started with millions of customers and we see this as a monumental opportunity. This is a new team at Airbnb and we know founding team members have a tremendous influence on our long-term success. Your contributions will help establish a major component of the travel offering at Airbnb both within the product and at the company.

 

The Transportation Marketing Lead will sit at the intersection of supply and demand, ensuring the impeccable supply we build across a variety of key transport partners is met with exceptional marketing programs that unlock demand and brand love. The ideal candidate should be proficient in all marketing functions -- content, product marketing, influencer, entertainment marketing, PR, social, and growth -- to effectively collaborate with a growing team of experts. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and implement all marketing campaigns from start to finish, drawing on host partners (e.g. airlines) and internal marketing teams for cohesion and effectiveness.
  • Develop briefs that solicit business needs from each stakeholder and enable marketing to deliver best-in-class programs; run a briefing and planning process that unlocks magical work.
  • Develop a channel marketing strategy that aligns with the goals and outcomes of each initiative.
  • Consult with marketing functions and creative partners across planning and execution to ensure each partner campaign meet the needs of the business.
  • Maintain and own internal communications of any marketing launch calendar on behalf of the transport team.
  • Implement an approach that is conducive to shifting deadlines and priorities and preserves focus for the transport team.
  • Partner closely with research, data science, and external parties to develop rich consumer insights that enrich and embolden strategies.
  • Create visibility for marketing routines, wins, and opportunities by embedding closely product and design counterparts.

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of directly relevant marketing experience.
  • Experience leading marketing campaigns in transportation working directly in or with an airline or mobility company
  • Experience building, shaping, and leading all elements of marketing campaigns and activations.
  • Proven track record of flawlessly navigating highly complex organizations towards a single goal.
  • Ability to work within a matrix, solve problems and influence cross-functional teams (design, product, data, legal, and business development).
  • Ability to confidently communicate in a clear and effective manner with external and internal stakeholders at all levels including c-suite.
  • Ability to challenge and influence a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical skills - can present clear and rational connections between Airbnb and our partners.
  • Ability to simplify and create focus amidst a highly complex organization and team.
  • Passion for Airbnb and connecting online and offline experiences is a must. They enjoy a challenge and has a genuine interest in revolutionizing how customers experience travel.
  • Comfortable with pressure, fast-paced environment and ambiguity.
