Job Overview:

 

As part of the Web Analytics team, the ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the overall e-commerce analytics strategy, process, and organization which deliver information, insight, and recommendations to monitor, measure, and optimize Bloomingdales.com's online business.

 

Specifically, the person who fills this position will be responsible for how IBM Coremetrics is implemented on our sites (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile and Mobile App). This includes: working with business partners to determine what the important things are to measure (KPIs), writing site tagging requirements for the development teams, QA before enhancements and tests goes live on the site and initial reporting on site enhancement performance.   The analyst will also work on ad hoc analysis and building standardized reporting as needed, giving the business data-driven insight into improving our business.  Key to both groups of responsibilities is that we are looking for someone to provide active recommendation, not merely fill a mechanical tag-then-report role.  We are looking for a creative thinker who can help us to continue moving forward, improving our customer experience. 

 

Essential Functions:

 

• Provide insights and recommendations to increase site conversion and drive site improvements. Identify traffic trends by channel, abandonment issues and opportunities for improving site conversion rates.

• Provide analytic support to measure sales performance, analyze promotional results.  Provide data to determine measure marketing efforts effectiveness.

• Train existing and new Bloomingdales co-workers on how to self-serve by pulling their own data from the Coremetrics interface.

• Research and recommend enhancements to web design/functions and CRM systems.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience:

 

• Minimum BA or BS with strong analytical skills

• 1-2 years reporting/analysis experience at an online retailer, ecommerce setting, publisher, online agency or like environment

• Some experience with SQL is desirable but not at all required

 

 

Communication Skills:

 

• Strong project management and communication skills

• Strong data interpretation and communications skills; ability to summarize and present complex findings clearly and concisely to various management levels

 

Reasoning Ability:

 

• Strong conceptual/analytical/creative thinker

 

Other Skills:

 

• Intermediate experience with Excel to analyze and manipulate data, investigate data problems and develop reports.

• Knowledge of IBM Coremetrics, Omniture, Web Trends, Google Analytics or like web analytic tools, especially on the tagging/implementation side.

 

Work Hours:

 

• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.

• Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.
