
Junior Marketing Designer (6mth FTC)
Job
Working as part of the New Scientist marketing team, the Junior Marketing Designer will work closely with the Campaign Marketing Coordinator and Creative Director to create clear and well-designed marketing collateral.
The role will require you to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver marketing creative assets for several online and offline channels to be used across a mix of brand awareness, mid funnel and conversion campaigns.

Main Responsibilities:
- Support the Creative Director with the delivery of marketing materials that resonate with our target audience, are visually appealing and adhere to brand guidelines and style.
- Create eye-catching, high-quality assets to be used across a range of offline and online channels including email campaigns, print assets, website graphics and more.
- Ability to turn static assets into animated ones including the creation of video assets.
- Work with external stakeholders on paid social campaigns, ensuring compliance with image licensing and copyright agreements.
- Contribute creative ideas to the development of concepts for a range of marketing campaigns from brand awareness to subscription conversion.
- Collaborate with the Campaign Marketing Coordinator to understand project requirements, objectives and deadlines.
- Respond to creative briefs from and maintain effective working relationships with the marketing team.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects as and when required around other business priorities, such as merchandise development.
- Stay up to date with industry news and competitor activity
Person Specification:
- Highly creative with a strong understanding of design principles
- In-depth working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programmes (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects & Premiere Pro)
- Excellent conceptual thinking skills
- Positive, can-do attitude.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive when responding to briefs
- Capacity to be flexible and multitask.
- Proven ability to work effectively to tight deadlines
- Eagerness to learn and stay up-to-date with design and marketing trends
