Technology is at the heart of YOOX NET-A-PORTER GROUP and is the driving force behind its success. Our in-house technology team allows The Group to give customers and brand partners the best possible experience across content and commerce, and to continually innovate and lead the online luxury industry.


We are looking for top-level developers with core Java experience in JEE , RESTful Web Services, and JUnit, Spring MVC and/or a passion for Microservices. We are advocates for TDD/BDD and pair programming. You will be based out of our newly designed tech hub in White City (close to Shepherds Bush), which is part of a €500m investment in technology to double the size of the business by 2020. The tech hub is a 70,000 ft. space to bring all UK tech teams under one roof, which consists of over 500 staff.

The teams:

Our Platform Team consists of 7 sub-teams with a total of over 100 permanent staff, plus contractors

Cognitive Commerce (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning)

5 Team members (and growing) responsible for all Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning projects. Cognitive computing enables us to build software that focuses on reasoning, understanding and learning. Rather than relying on a fixed set of rules and programming by coding, it’s all about programming by input-output examples and recognising trends from data or recognising categories that the data fit in so that when the software is presented with new data, it can make proper predictions. The team are working on a number of projects to bring this technology into YNAP across the business.

Tech stack is Java, but for each project, we investigate and use the best solution to the problem, therefore the stack will be constantly changing depending on the work.

Checkout Team:

11 team members that focus on backend API development for the checkout cycle that includes; adding/removing items from baskets, registering payments, shipping & address information, adding items to wish lists and continue to browse features.

Tech stack is Core Java, Spring, Rest, TDD and Microservices

Commando Team:

13 team members that deliver projects across the e-Commerce payments process of our websites. This is a collaborative team that is open to varied opinions/views to improve technology and processes.

Tech stack is Core Java, Spring, Hibernate, JSON, Bitbucket, Git, Microservices and TDD (JUnit)

Core Media Team:

We are in the process of building a new team to support the global rollout of our new Content Management System, CoreMedia. These are greenfield projects and you will be involved in a range of activities such as developing REST APIs, developing customisations of the CMS, performance testing your work and mentoring more junior team members.

In addition to developing great software, we need you to help shape the development and Agile working practices for the team.  This is a growing team where these processes are currently being reviewed and improved.  Therefore you would have a real influence on change upon joining the team.
