As the Head of UX Research at Nextdoor, you will lead a mixed methods UX Research team to establish and socialize critical insights about our neighbors, businesses, and public service agencies, define research methodologies, influence our product strategy and roadmap, shape the future vision of the Nextdoor product, and cultivate a human-centric culture across the product organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • You’ll manage, build, mentor, and inspire your UX research team to execute research initiatives across all products, with insights directly impacting and influencing product strategy and design.
  • You’ll define the end-to-end research process and be accountable for delivering insights that lead to tangible results.
  • You’ll prioritize user insights and opportunities across the product team, representing these insights at the highest levels of the organization and ensuring the needs of our users are part of every product and design conversation.
  • You’ll collaborate with Product Management, Design, Data Science, and Engineering to synthesize a clear picture of product opportunities and challenges.
  • You’ll contribute to the leadership team of Nextdoor as a whole. You’ll work to up-level the entire design and UX research team through your strong skillset and work closely with Leaders in Product, Engineering, Marketing, Neighborhood Operations, HR, to build a culture of human centered insight across the organization.

What You’ll Bring To The Team:

  • You have experience building and leading UX research teams of 10+ to inform product strategy and design at top-tier firms or companies.
  • You know how to recruit, hire and retain quantitative and qualitative UX researchers -- and you have done this already in at least one organization.
  • You have a proven track record of being an influential research leader, working with your peers to define and scope research initiatives and programs.
  • You have experience contributing to innovative, successful consumer and B2B products with global user bases and creating user understanding and empathy across an organization.
  • You are experienced with a range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies and are able to roll up your sleeves to do the work when needed.
  • You are experienced in nurturing team culture, inspiring team members to do their best work in a fast paced, high-change environment.
  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate positions, represent research insights, and work across functions and organizational boundaries.
  • You don’t want to stand still, you are hungry to learn about what makes neighborhoods tick around the globe as we expand our footprint.
