We’re Bloom & Wild, the UK’s most loved online florist. We’re using technology to reimagine the experience of buying and receiving flowers, connecting people more thoughtfully to make sending flowers a joy to send and a delight to receive. In doing so we're aiming to become Europe’s most loved flower brand. We’ve raised over £20million in venture capital funding and were recently named as the second-fastest growing tech company in the UK by Deloitte. One of the Tech Nation “Future Fifty” alumni, we’re now the fastest growing online flower company in Europe.

We’re looking for a UX and Research Lead to join our Product Team, reporting to our VP of Product & Retention.  You’ll be responsible for creating best-in-class experiences across our websites and apps that make sending flowers simple, delightful and personal.

You’re customer-centric, empathetic, data-savvy, insight-driven and able to apply lean UX principles in a fast-paced start-up environment.  You’ve got deep experience in user research and a proven ability to work with designers to bring these experiences to life. Day-to-day you’ll be running our UX research agenda so we want a hands-on, doer who is experienced in a range of research methods and able to apply them to deeply understand our customers and their needs.  We’ll give you the freedom to apply your initiative, expertise and experience to identify and pursue opportunities to realise our goals. This includes solving problems like personalisation, the handover between our digital and physical products and adapting our product internationally.

Based in our London offices you’ll be a key leader in our Product Team, managing our product designers and working alongside product managers, data analysts and developers - to define our product roadmap and bringing your vision to life.

The role:

  • Responsible for UX and design across our website and apps, with a strong focus on our mobile web and app (iOS and Android) user journey.

  • Leading our product discovery process to identify and meet the needs of our customers and achieve our business goals.

  • Taking a lean UX, hypothesis-driven approach to identify and validate the most important opportunities to achieve business goals.

  • Prolifically sketching, wireframing, prototyping and testing ideas and concepts.

  • Conducting customer research and using data / web analytics to deeply understand customer needs and business opportunities.

  • Manage our product designers and work with them to turn insights and wireframes into delightful and high performing customer experiences.

  • Work as part of a cross-functional squad including designers, product managers, data analysts and developers to design, prioritise and test concepts.

  • Work with our customer experience team to optimise the relationship between our digital and physical products.

  • A strong track record of developing products that have delivered measurable results across ecommerce websites and mobile apps (iOS and Android).

  • Have worked in a fast-moving, start-up/scale-up environment (ideally ecommerce).

  • Deep expertise and experience in UX and user research.

  • Customer-centric, empathetic and insight driven-combining quantitative and qualitative research to deeply understand and meet customer needs.

  • A design thinker and excellent problem solver who takes a well-structured approach to understanding problems and hypothesising/testing solutions.

  • Experienced running a wide range of in-person and remote UX and qualitative research methods to understand customer needs (e.g. interviews, surveys, usability testing, focus groups).

  • Can rapidly prototype and design solutions to enable us to test and validate concepts and interactions (tell us what tools you love using and why).

  • Analytically strong and use data skillfully to understand customers - with experience in using web analytics tools (ideally Google Analytics and/or Heap) and A/B test to validate your hypotheses.

  • A hands-on doer, who gets their hands dirty in the detail, thrives on being able to take action themselves and sharing their findings with the rest of the team.

  • 2+ years experience managing and coaching a team of UX/UI designers.

  • 5+ years of experience as a UX researcher, UX designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar.

  • Demonstrate a portfolio of work with a proven track record for solving difficult UX design problems to intuitive interfaces for customers (please supply with application).
