Your brief will be to own Red Bull UK’s social media strategy within our network of channels. You will be responsible for maximizing reach and engagement of Red Bull Media Network content across social media channels, as well as leading social activation of Red Bull’s events, athletes, key opinion leaders and owned platforms across the UK. You’ll be expected to come up with brilliant and innovative ideas, which go beyond standard social media executions, with the ambition to achieve firsts in social marketing and establish Red Bull UK as a market leader.

LEADERSHIP:

Lead the social media team.

Establish yourself as a thought-leader within social media to other stakeholders in the business.
 

STRATEGY:

Own Red Bull UK’s social media strategy in alignment with the global strategy.

Ensure strategy is based on insight and contributes to sustained growth of Red Bull Media Network KPIs.

Drive this strategy through all touchpoints of the business, ensuring best-in-class social media activation is always at the forefront.
 

INSIGHTS:

Analyse social media performance and translate data into actionable insights that increase performance.

Use Red Bull proprietary and third-party analytics tools to further enrich our social media offering.

Develop playbooks and best practices based on insight - share these throughout the department.
 

PLATFORM RELATIONSHIPS:

Hold key relationships with social media platform partners.

Oversee the development of these platforms alongside the Head of Programming.

Identify new and emerging social media platforms where we can distribute our content.
 

CONTENT CREATION & PROGRAMMING:

Lead ideation and development of always-on social content and repeatable formats with the Social team.

Work with in-house teams and agencies to bring your ideas to life.

Ensure social content is tailored per platform and distributed effectively to maximise reach and engagement.
 

PAID ADVERTISING:

Collaborate with Head of Advertising and relevant Brand team members to ensure our paid social efforts are driving the desired outcomes for the Red Bull Media Network and the wider Marketing team.

Support the Social team with strategy, direction and budget allocation of always-on boosting initiatives.
 

GENERAL:

Be a key figure in the business pushing innovation and creativity – always thinking outside the box.

Develop relationships across the company (UK and globally) to ensure UK social media is thought of as best-in-class.

Be regarded as a trusted and strong member of the Red Bull Media Network and wider Marketing team.

Gain the reputation of someone who could be a leader of the Red Bull Media Network in the future.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

  • Previous experience leading a social media team, ideally within the media and publishing industry.
  • Experience managing a complex and vast network of social media channels, ensuring that the right content sits on the right platform.
  • Proven ability to build and engage online communities with an eye for consistent long-term growth.
  • An inherent understanding of what content works on social and how to best activate it organically and with the support of paid media.
  • Proven experience with examples of developing social-first ideas and creative executions.
  • The ability to act quickly and react to trending topics and stories.
  • Experience using social media channels to drive quality traffic to owned media.
  • Knowledge of content marketing and social media tools such as Sprinklr and Tubular Labs.
  • Strong written communication and accuracy with a keen editorial sense.
  • Confident in presenting strategies and influencing key decision-makers.
  • A determination to experiment and try new things before anyone else.
