Why this role matters:

In this job, you’ll be accountable for the performance of a major Digital product or group of products. You will operate at the alliance level which is a grouping of tribes (which is a grouping of squads). You will be influencing the experience of millions of customers. This role will have a material impact on the success of the Consumer business. A large number of product owners will be looking to you for leadership and direction.

This role will be the head of the BT Sales Alliance; comprised of numerous tribes and squads focussed on selling BT's products and services online.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will lead, motivate and inspire a high performing team of product owners and ensure that their potential is achieved.
  • You will collate, distil and interrogate customer insight and business priorities to create a balanced view of customer needs and business challenges.
  • You will define the overarching vision, strategy and objectives for the given digital product(s) managed by your alliance
  • You will create, maintain and regularly iterate a roadmap and backlog for your alliance.
  • You will prioritise activities based upon achieving validated learning as quickly as possible and maximising customer value.
  • You will influence & shape requirements for new initiatives from other areas in Consumer. You will translates these commercial/marketing/service strategies and targets into a digital experience backlog.
  • You will create business cases to secure investment and own budgets required to deliver outcomes.
  • You will be accountable for the product performance (e.g. CSAT, sales, contacts deflected) of the alliance and expected to assure it.
  • You will communicate clearly, transparently and concisely with stakeholders.
  • You will create an engaging and long-lasting connection with stakeholders up to and including the Consumer board.
  • You will have a collaborative way of working, within, and across functions, breaking down any barriers to move relationships forward.
  • You will help drive the Consumer Digital vision across the business, evangelising digital practises cross-channel and across directorates.

We'll also need to see these on your CV:

  • Leading and inspiring digital product teams.
  • Making data-driven decisions using data from various sources.
  • Agile ways of working, including a test and learn, MVP, experimentation driven approach.
  • Worked alongside multi-disciplined teams (developers, product designers, etc) to deliver digital products and features.
  • Clear and concise communication up to CEO level.
