Delivering excellence at Capita Learning as a Visual Designer:

We are currently looking for a junior Visual Designer to join our creative market leading team, you will be working on a variety of digital visual material across Capita Learning’s e-learning projects. This will include editing existing vector and/or photographic images, in addition to designing assets from scratch. In most cases, you will collaborate closely with a Senior Visual Designer and Senior Learning Designer to ensure that the finished course follows the ‘look and feel’ that is set out in the Art Direction.

We provide blended learning, learning portals, learning games and consultancy, working with an exciting range of global clients representing every industry sector. Our multi-talented, creative team have worked with many of the world's top brands.

This role could be 100% home based or located in our Brighton office. Please note, the start date for this role will be July 2021.

Job Description:

What you will be doing:

  • To ensure that all visual elements and content in the course follow the visual tone, appearance, functionality and overall aesthetic created in the Art Direction and adhere to the guiding principles of graphic design, such as alignment, spacing and balance.

  • To have a clear understanding of a clients’ brand values, guidelines and briefs and to ensure that all work complies with client guidelines.

  • To demonstrate a full understanding of the technical specification for each project and to ensure that all finished work complies with these guidelines e.g. screen resolution, file formats, file sizes, font usage etc.

  • To have strong time management and be able to accurately estimate time required for a project.

  • To ensure work is accurate and completed on time and with estimated effort even when deadlines are challenging.

  • To constantly seek to increase and develop your own personal skill set and stay up-to-date with current developments in visual design, e-learning and technologies.

What we are looking for:

  • An understanding of User-Experience and User-Centred Design principles.

  • A keen eye for quality and exceptional attention to detail.

  • Good inter-personal skills so that you can work effectively with members of the Capita Learning team and with our clients.

  • A high level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (with a focus on Photoshop and Illustrator).

  • Ideally knowledge of After Effects and Animation although this is not essential.

  • Desirably you will have an understanding of Storyline, Gomo, Adapt, Elucidat or Coursebuilder and/or other authoring tools but this is not essential.
