
Experienced/Senior 3D Character Artist – Character Team
Job
We are looking for a Character Artist to join the character team on our successful live F2P games.
You’ll be creating fun, vivid and efficient in-game character models alongside high-detailed marketing renders of your new creations. You love collaborating and helping drive forward new characters that will resonate with our large active community and millions of players - come and help our games reach their full potential!
Responsibilities:
- Create low poly game characters and textures with a focus on efficient topology and UVs.
- Create high poly and high detail character renders for marketing and game use
- Take your render to final quality with post-render edits in Photoshop
- Take equal ownership of the game characters. Collaborate with the animators, designers, engineers and VFX artists to deliver the best character experience for our games.
- Export, test and iterate your characters in the game engine
- Create additional art elements such as 3D icons and prop models when necessary.
- Create presentation images of your characters for marketing purposes or review sign-off
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Excellent knowledge of 3D software such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, Blender, Zbrush etc...
- Strong texturing skills in Substance Painter or Photoshop in PBR and non-PBR workflows
- Able to skin and rig a character to a basic level for posing.
- Ability to absorb, apply and give constructive feedback
Bonus experiences:
- Experience in setting up characters for rendering that demonstrates a solid understanding of lighting, materials and render settings in packages like V-Ray or Arnold
- Experience with working in game engines like Unity or Unreal - Getting your art in and setting it up while also considering performance and technical constraints.
- A good understanding of the human form/anatomy and structure/silhouette
- A genuine interest in stylized characters and textures
