Job Description

The Opinion Department of The New York Times is seeking an senior staff member to join the Editorial Board.  This person will work closely with writers and top editors in Opinion to help envision, shape and edit editorials. We need a seasoned staff editor who will attend board meetings, write editorials, headlines, decks, captions and other display copy.  This person will work with art directors, photo editors and will help schedule INYT editorials as well. 

This Guild position is open to internal candidates who have passed a newsroom editing test, or who have substantial experience as a Times journalist, in one form or another.

This posting is a union position as classified by the News Guild of New York, the union for news professionals.
