Position Summary:

Reporting to the Executive Director, this position will kickstart creative campaign processes and ensure consistency in brand messaging across all platforms (digital, print, social) and touchpoints (advertising, in-store, events). This role will lead NPLs, collaborate on requests and integrate feedback from various departments including Global Marketing, Education, Online, PR, PD, Social, Digital and Visual Merchandising. It will also oversee junior writers and freelancers.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as primary writer on brand launch materials across all platforms. Takes a comprehensive, 360 approach to ensure consistency and alignment in brand messaging across all platforms.

  • Incorporates captivating, relevant and on-brand lifestyle angles into all NPL and re-promote messaging.

  • Partners with design to create compelling creative concepts and decks with strong storytelling viewpoints.

  • Presents concepts and completed work to Marketing and other departments.

  • Works with Marketing to customize programs that achieve regional relevance and promote brand RTBs.

  • Partners with Digital, Social and Global Marketing to adapt messaging to new media platforms in real time.

  • Works with PR and CRM to develop event hooks, invitations, taglines and press releases.

  • Works with Education to ensure consistency of brand messaging and tone.

  • Is the lead voice within the copy department, providing guidance in accordance with brand positioning. Responsible for many day-to-day decisions relating to copy consistency and expert quality control with regard to La Mer branding.

  • Directly mange guide and develop one direct report.

  • Work closely with Peers to communicate copy needs across departments to maintain cohesiveness.

  • Develop and build team inspiration and continue to raise the creative bar.

  • Collaborates with legal on claims and registrations.

  • Concepts and storyboards videos; Writes VOs.

  • Oversees, edits and grooms junior writers and freelancers.
     

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong ability to write about products, paying special attention to tone, context and consistency.

  • Understanding nuances of communication in different mediums such as digital, email, social media and print.

  • A collaborative spirit and positive responsiveness to feedback.
     

Education and Experience:

  • 7 – 10 years of writing experience in related fields.

  • Experience working closely with art departments.
