Who we are

At MADE.COM we believe that everyone should have access to great design. So, we’ve taken a unique approach to making and selling furniture - no middlemen, no agents or importers and no high street stores. Instead we work directly with designers and manufacturers so we can offer high-end furniture at attractive prices.

It’s not an easy task –  it takes a creative and dedicated team to make it happen where everyone has an important part to play. We combine our individual passions and skills to create innovative work that’s as exciting and unconventional as the business itself. It’s a place where all ideas are listened to, where brainstorming means job titles get left at the door and where a self-starter can really make their mark.

What you’ll be doing:

We are seeking a Mid-weight Digital Product Designer to join our fast-growing team, responsible for designing great customer centric experiences across all of our digital platforms (website, mobile app, CRM and more).

This is your day:

  • Take part in journey mapping, prototyping and user testing to learn more about our customers.

  • Sketch and design user flows that are unbeatably easy, then bring them to life with an elegant style that reflects our brand personality.

  • You will help keep our design system consistent and organised.

  • Work closely with engineers to deliver technically feasible designs and oversee the production until launch.

What you’ll need:

If you are as passionate about great design as we are, you understand that beautiful design is nothing without great usability.

  • You're a problem solver, but you don't just solve problems. You do it beautifully with an incredible eye for detail. Your designs are both functional and deeply desirable; engaging and inspiring users.

  • You design with data, user needs and business requirements in mind. You're pragmatic but very creative; you challenge the ordinary to offer the most enticing and innovative solution.

  • You self manage and can prioritise your time and effort effectively, balancing between fast ideation and user testing with sufficient time to craft and polish your designs.

  • You’re extremely organised. Your folders and files are well named and structured, you understand the benefits of a consistent design system.

  • You’re always aiming to build habit-forming products that will create new standards in usability and lead the industry.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in UI/UX, demonstrated in a varied digital portfolio.

  • Mastery of Sketch, but also comfortable using Photoshop and Illustrator.

  • Experience working with developers and using design hand off tools (eg. Zeplin, Avocode, Abstract).

  • Ability to illustrate icons.

Extra points if you:

  • Have experience with prototyping tools (eg. Principle, Flinto, Invision).

  • Have animation skills and good understanding of interactive motion.

  • Are familiar with agile development methodology.

  • Know how to code.

What we offer:

  • A fast-paced, creative and fun office environment with flexible working hours.

  • Great opportunities to make the role your own and get involved with exciting projects.

  • A supportive, diverse company with a brilliant culture.

  • Hot and cold drinks and free breakfast provided in the office – (including fruit for the healthy people).

  • Regular work drinks along with many social and company events.

  • Excellent employee benefits Including private healthcare (with discounted gym membership), pension, life insurance, 25 days holiday a year (with an extra day every year served up to a cap of 30 days) and season ticket loan.

  • Temptingly good employee discounts on MADE.com and regular staff sample sales.
