Job Purpose and Summary:

Support the Creative Services Photo & Video Specialist to develop and produce video, imagery and design assets for use across Canon Europe’s websites, social media, retail and print publications both internally and externally.

Photography and Video creative execution:

  • Support the Photo & Video Specialist in the creation of video and photography assets to support our key content areas.
  • Interpret Canon business briefs into creative briefs, including creative responses (storyboarding, messaging and treatment).
  • Provide Canon attendance at internal photo shoots to ensure results are in line with brief.
  • Support the Photo & Video Specialist the creation of video and photography assets to support our key content areas.
  • Support the Photo & Video Specialist with internal ad hoc requests for photography and videography.
  • Learn to interpret Canon business briefs into creative briefs, including creative responses (storyboarding, messaging and treatment).
  • Provide Canon attendance at internal photo shoots to ensure results are in line with brief.
  • Photography/Video Creation.
  • Photographer and self-shooting video director supporting the creation of video and photography assets to support our key content areas.
  • Manage internal ad hoc requests for photography and videography.
  • Provide Canon attendance at photo shoots to ensure results are in line with brief.
  • Work with Creative Services team, acting as quality guardian for photography and video output.
  • Rewrite business briefs into creative briefs, including creative responses (storyboarding, messaging and treatment).
  • Support the briefing and management of external photographers and film makers, including Canon Ambassadors.
  • Provide Canon attendance at photo shoots to ensure results are in line with brief and support agencies and photographers /videographers with technical guidance .
  • Support the Creative Services team with specialist opinion and advice.
  • Support the assessment, evaluation and monitoring of the quality and cost of existing creative agencies and suppliers, and support finding new creative suppliers.
  • Work alongside internal teams, and our external agencies, to advise on cost and quality of photography and video productions.
  • Source potential freelancers to support growing external (consumer-facing) photography/videography needs across EMEA.
  • Build and manage roster of skilled employees to support growing internal photography/videography needs across EMEA.

Management of Photo and/ Video Assets:

  • Ensure photography and video related Canon EMEA guidelines are up to date.
  • End-to-end delivery (redefine content, rewrite, design, deliver and guard) of the Photo & Video Guidelines for Canon EMEA to reflect new Brand and Visual Identity when required.
  • Update policies related to image/video usage rights, IP and legal requirements.
  • Support the Photo & Video Specialist with managing, Manage, educating and policing usage rights of all photography and film used in Canon’s communication material.
  • Learn to ensure all photo and video assets are correctly updated to DAM tool with usage rights highlighted where necessary.
  • Learn ongoing rights management of photography and video assets vison DAM tool.
  • Learn to source new imagery and grow brand image library to support the brand across various communications platforms.
  • Support approvals of all photo & video submissions to the Creative Content & Approvals Dashboard.
  • Hold Super User status for DAM to monitor all uploads and rights management of photo and video assets across EMEA.
  • Manage, educate and police usage rights of all photography and film used in communication material.

 

Video Editing:

  • Provide creative video editing service for internal and external communications.
  • Support product launch with cross-channel & platform video edits.
  • Support the Photo & Video Specialist Support with the increase in content re-use by repurposing existing assets using video editing.
  • Support the Photo & Video Specialist by providing a video editing service for external communications including Social Media and PR, retail and live comms.
  • Provide video editing service for internal communications.

  • Support product launch with cross-channel & platform video edits.

 

Management of CEL Photo & Video Studio:

  • Support the Photo and Video Specialist with set up of Photo & Video studio to ensure fit for use for all CEL employees and external agencies.
  • Provide well-resourced studio location for product launch shoot.
  • On-going studio maintenance and room booking management.
  • Support the Photo and Video Specialist with Management of loan photo and video gear.
  • Provide basic video & photo training for effective use of studio.

 

Brand Management:

  • Source new imagery and grow brand image library to support the brand across various communications platforms.
  • Act as brand guardian for all video and image assets created and distributed by Canon EMEA.
  • Support approvals of all photo & video submissions to the Creative Content & Approvals Dashboard.
  • Attend creative shoots to police the use of the brand on location.
  • Attend external events to police use of branded assets and support with any photo/video related requirements.
  • Run regular photo competitions for employees to encourage employee engagement, support brand, corporate communications and sustainability.

 

Digital and Print design:

  • Create and/or edit visually engaging creative assets (e.g. web graphics such as GIF, JPEG images, front end website design, wireframing, prototyping) ready for publishing online and/or print publications.
  • Design & produce creative assets for all stages of the sales cycle. This will include content for both off/online communications (internal/external), Social, CRM, Retail as well as timely content for features and news items.
  • Creation of varied print collateral such as flyers, posters, brochures and booklets.
  • Support the creation of digital wireframes and mock-ups and page layouts of assets and page layouts.
  • Creation of digital banners, PowerPoints, EDMs and logos.
  • Assist the Content Operations & Digital Operations team with initiating improvements to Canon’s online presence across varying business units.
  • Ensure all assets comply with Canon’s visual identity and brand guidelines and module guidelines.

•Experience using Adobe CC photo and video editing software as well as experience with Adobe CC design software – eg. Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD.

•Adobe After Effects experience is highly desirable.

•Possess a natural creative flair with energy and enthusiasm for photography, video and design.

•Proven online visual design experience with good understanding of principles of web accessibility, navigation and usability.

•Good understanding of brand design and the use of guidelines.

•Comfortable working to tight deadlines with good time management skills with ability to plan and organise workload.

•Good oral and written communication skills.

•Self motivated, pragmatic, and able to work as part of a team or individually to meet tight deadlines, remain calm under pressure and collaborate on multiple assignments.

•Able to set priorities and adapt to changing conditions.

•Liaise with creative counterparts and business stakeholders.
