Our Copywriter will develop strategic and persuasive copy that builds on the brand strategy. Through mastery of our distinctive voice & best practices, they will strengthen our brands, bringing our special products and services to life in an authentic, conversational style that engages consumers equally in digital, emerging and traditional media.

 

Collaborates closely with designers and marketers within the Marketing department, as well as with Project Management. Depending on the project, a Copywriter may also work with cross- functional partners in Merchandising, eCommerce, Visual, and Corporate Communications to ensure the best possible customer experience. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Effectively interprets and adapts information for each initiative and writes clear, concise and compelling copy to embody the voice of the brand.

  • Proactively seeks effectiveness in advertising by understanding the needs of our customers and researching competitors’ advertisements and campaigns.

  • Collaborates with Design and Marketing partners to create synergy and integration in concept development as well as in execution across print and digital.

  • Has full knowledge of legal guidelines, formats and best practices and is empowered to make decisions to ensure compliance and consistency throughout all projects.

  • Plans, prioritizes and organizes a high volume of work and coordinates with Project Management to effectively meet deadlines.

  • Proofreads and self-edits to deliver work that is accurate and achieves the highest standards of creative excellence and technical quality. 

  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality. 
     

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.

  • 2-3 years of advertising copywriting experience, retail preferred.

  • Proficient in InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite. 
     

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
     

Mathematical Skills:

  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills.
     

Reasoning Ability:

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions.
     

Physical Demands:

  • This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.

  • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

  • May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time. 

  • Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.

  • May involve moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.
     

Other Skills:

  • Portfolio demonstrating strategic and creative strength.

  • Industry-aware; knows what others are doing in all media types and in store, and can adapt learnings.

  • Proven strength in problem analysis and decision making. 
     

Work Hours:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
