Centrica Business Solutions (CBS) is part of Centrica – a global energy and services company dedicated to satisfying the changing needs of its customers. We are looking for a Content Marketing Manager who is will be responsible for developing, managing and enhancing the marketing content programme to support CBS globally and build CBS awareness/credibility and online presence.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Content Strategy: Understand the content themes and topics and create a content programme and structure to ensure content is aligned from brand through to product.

  • Content Plan: Develop and manage the content plan across all teams for maximum ROI – ensuring content supports campaigns and always on/BAU activity. Manage content plan tool to ensure planning and visibility of all content activity.

  • Content Best practices and process: Ensure correct processes are in place across the Marketing team, agencies, Centrica Group etc. to produce best in class content that delivers to Marketing KPIs, look for opportunities to continual improve and keep up to date with industry best practice and monitoring content activities of competitor websites. Manage all aspects of the content marketing process, ensuring all content is approved to set guidelines around look/feel and tone of voice, and promoted to the right audience.

  • Content Syndication: Ensure content is developed so it can be re-used or re-purposed across multiple content channels e.g. email, social, web, events etc. Target to use a piece of content 5 times across these different channels.

  • Content Development: Lead the best practice principles and guidelines on the most appropriate content to create based on target audience, channel, results etc. – to ensure mix of content types e.g. video, illustrations, ebooks, blogs etc. - engaging key stakeholders, aligning to marketing campaigns and working closely with other marketing & sales teams.

  • Personas – develop, manage and embed target audience personas across all activity and content. Implement analysis and reporting to determine effectiveness of approach.

  • Industry – research, identify and develop messaging framework for key industries to enable teams to develop content targeted to specific industries.

  • Reference programme – manage the reference programme end to end across all countries ensuring best in class programme and drive towards customer advocacy. Work with Sales and local marketing teams to identify and deliver approved reference customers. Write case studies for UK/NA and work with an agency for international case studies.

  • Content Tools: Launch and manage key tools to enable better development and management of content internally and externally, for example SharePoint, Seismic and content library.

  • Content Analysis: Analyse and report on content use across all channels and all content types e.g. website on page content, downloads etc.  Evaluate and provide recommendations to improve overall Marketing KPI performance and content performance. Provide regular reports for key stakeholders.

Technical Competencies:

  • Insight driven: experience of using customer and market intelligence to help develop and adapt approach.

  • Copywriting: ability to research, digest and write B2B copy targeted to specific personas.

  • Marketing software and tools: ability to quickly understand new marketing tools, including CMS, marketing automation (Pardot) and CRM (Salesforce). Experience of content management tools, sales content tools and internal Microsoft platforms (e.g. SharePoint) to share content.

  • Inbound and Digital marketing: experience of developing and delivering successful, digital content marketing, value-led collateral and thought leadership frameworks and campaigns.

  • Planning and Performance Management: excellent planning and programme management skills. Good analytical skills to analyse, evaluate and recommend actions.

  • Influencing and presentation: able to present clearly to engage and influence a range of senior Centrica stakeholders, customers and suppliers.

  • Communication skills: ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into simple ideas to engage a broad set of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinking and decision making: ability to connect long term strategy with shorter term execution plans. A proactive self-starter who can ‘take people with them’ working across business units and disciplines.

  • Collaboration: influence and work effectively with a range of customer and internal Centrica stakeholders and external parties.

  • Creativity: experience of defining new and creative customer focused strategies and tactics.  Writing ability to produce and publish good content.

  • Customer journey: experience of using customer insights to understand the customer buying journey and how to influence behaviours at each stage.

  • Degree level qualification in any discipline – or equivalent.

Work Experience:

  • Product Marketing: Experience of creating compelling customer facing messaging and marketing materials for complex B2B services.

  • Content and Thought leadership: Experience at developing influential materials which influence the direction of industry change.

  • Marketing campaigns: Some experience of designing and delivering integrated marketing campaigns which demonstrate a thorough understanding of the customer and drive awareness and consideration, and the role content plays in this process.

  • Marketing strategy development: Sound understanding of marketing communication strategies.

  • KPIs: Knowledge and understanding of the business key performance indicators.

  • Commercial Know-How: Managing for value, understand the external marketplace, understanding Centrica, understanding our Customers.

  • Collaboration: Experience at working in multi-function teams to deliver complex solutions and influence senior stakeholders.
