Why this role matters:

In this job, you’ll be accountable for developing and executing the Consumer Content Strategy, impacting all customers and advisors. You’ll be responsible for delivering vision and leadership across the Content Design team, setting direction, understanding strategic and business objectives across products.

The exact digital products in the scope of any of our roles will evolve over time. We will assign you to an alliance based upon a combination of your background, your development needs and interest and the business need. Example alliances we operate today are; BT Sales, EE Sales, Global Features, My Account, Help & Community.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will be responsible for being the confident, objective voice of our users. Relentlessly chasing needs based innovation and producing world class quality experiences.  

  • Content Strategy You will be responsible for development, maintenance and execution   of the Digital content strategy.  

  • Content execution & delivery- You will be accountable for the consistency within your own content design team, the direction set as well as the output of that team.

  • Continuous improvement - You will own how content design engages with user research & data analysis to ensure our approach is evidence based, continually optimised, user centred and drives our experience decisions. 

  • Content quality - You will be responsible for ensuring cross-channel consistency of messages and ensuring content quality over publishing quantity. Ensuring the team are distilling facts from subject matter experts and using specialist writing/content design skills to present the facts in the most digestible, usable format. 

  • Governance - You will be responsible for legal, regulatory governance and compliance of your teams copy & content.

  • Human driven approach-You will ensure Copy and Content supports and aligns with the Digital and Consumer strategy and objectives • Responsible for the application of the BT/EE tone of voice across all digital activities. 

  • SEO - You will ensure content optimisation through engagement with the SEO team.

  • Production - You will be responsible for any team copywriting, editorial, video production and CMS management, including building and uploading of content in a robust, secure and stable manner.  

  • Brand -You will work closely with Brand, following frameworks and maximising digital customer experiences across the digital estate.

We'll also need to see these on your CV.

  1. Experience in executing a content strategy for a major publisher or brand.

  2. Inspirational leader, confident in developing a vision for chapter/team and ensuring all staff have clear roles and responsibilities and are performing to potential.

  3. Content creation and curation experience, including solid experience of CMS, publishing workflows and data tools (e.g. Adobe Analytics).

  4. Excellent stakeholder management skills.

  5. Demonstrable experience in using data to improve customer experience.
