With the Director of Original Films and Head of Strategic Partnership and Commissions to contribute to the content agenda for the Sky Cinema service with a particular focus on the drive into Sky Original Films. You will be a brilliant negotiator and a passionate lover of all things cinema with a real understanding of popular mainstream entertainment. Highly organised and editorially savvy, you will be experienced at finding co-production partners and managing the co-production process end to end as well as being able to hold your own with sales agents, producers and studios and represent the Original Films and Partnerships functions with internal and external stakeholders.

What you’ll do:

  • Sourcing, managing and delivering feature films in line with the original film strategy.
  • Managing the end to end co-production process including liaising with producers on script notes, casting, appointing HODs and giving notes on cuts.
  • Able to negotiate the acquisition of film projects often via co-production deals with complex rights deals and multiple participants
  • First point of contact for Head of Strategic Partnerships with the development and maintenance of internal and external relationships and the information flow that is required to maintain them.
  • Manage the end-to end production process of original support programming, liaising with the external production company on all editorial stages.
  • Managing projects in production in conjunction with the Production Manager – dealing with rushes, on-set issues
  • Deputising for the Director of Original Film and make key decisions at a high level
  • Managing the development executives

What you’ll bring:

  • Editorially savvy with experience in feature film acquisition and production with a knowledge of film financing and legal contracts
  • Negotiation experience in a fast paced, media environment, preferably film and/or TV
  • Personable, demonstrable experience of forming strategic internal & external relationships within a creative industry
  • Script reading experience, preferably in feature films, ability to give notes and comment knowledgably on casting
  • Good relationship builder – able to liaise externally with confidence, e.g. with the Hollywood Studios and talent both in front and beyond the camera
  • Good working knowledge of the film industry with a great black book of senior contacts to call upon at any time
  • Experience in a Marketing environment desirable
