Job Introduction:

An exciting opportunity for a talented marketing copywriter has arisen in our high-performing commercial marketing team. This role requires someone who can confidently create compelling content for the Mail Metro Media brand and all of its platforms across multiple channels.

Reporting to the Director of Trade Marketing, you will be responsible for effective story-telling which engages and inspires our target audience – predominantly media agencies and the wider advertising industry.

We’re looking for a creative marketer with an eye for detail. Your words will drive brand awareness and thought leadership to ensure our business sits at the top table of UK media owners.

You’ll relish the opportunity and have the confidence to own and produce exceptional written marketing material across our calendar of commercial events, projects and opportunities. You will easily distil sometimes complex products and information into simple and clear copy, with a consistent tone of voice and personality.

You will be knowledgeable of the industry landscape and comfortable communicating key industry themes and topics that are closely related to our products. You will grasp project requirements quickly and research content, identify and interview relevant internal experts before writing up findings.

This unique role requires someone who will enjoy producing a wide variety of deliverables in a very fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to spot commercial opportunities and be proactive in developing new ideas and turning those ideas into informative, engaging content.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Copywriting across a multitude of channels including printed marketing and sales collateral, trade website, email newsletters, award entries, thought leadership pieces, case studies and short video scripts
  • Social media management.
  • Ghost writing with senior management team for published content, presentations and industry blog posts.
  • Ensuring consistency and accuracy of all internal and external trade marketing communications.
  • Identifying, developing and executing new ideas for ongoing content marketing strategy.
  • Curating and proof reading all copy before it goes live.
  • Guardian of brand’s tone of voice and identity.
  • Assisting with media and partnership relations, including coordinating press releases and drafting comment on behalf of Mail Metro Media and senior executive team.

Person Specification:

  • Creative writing, proof reading and editing.
  • Exceptional standard of English language spelling, punctuation and grammar.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of media landscape; particularly in digital and/or publishing.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Proficient at social media management.
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
  • Creative and passionate.
  • Collaborative and team spirited, confident at liaising with various departments and stakeholders.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum five years’ experience working within a media or marketing environment.
  • Demonstrable experience writing content in a B2B marketing/copywriting/editorial role.
